Liam Payne, the former One Direction band member, died at 31. He fell from the third floor of his hotel balcony in Buenos Aires, Argentina, and the incident occurred at around 5 pm local time on Wednesday. Since then, interest in his high-profile love life has been reignited.

Per New York Post, on Monday, Kate Cassidy shared a TikTok video alluding that she was traveling to Florida from Argentina, confirming the two were on vacation together. She added that their plan was to stay in Argentina for five days as she did not prefer to stay in one place for too long. They had been dating for two years when he met his demise. Furthermore, the singer shares a seven-year-old son, Bear, with his ex-Cheryl Cole, whom he dated from 2015 to 2018.

In this article, we're dissecting the timeline of Liam Payne's dating history.

A closer look at all of Liam Payne's relationships

Kate Cassidy

Payne began dating the influencer Kate Cassidy in October 2022. The 25-year-old took to TikTok less than a month before his passing to reveal how they met. She admitted they first crossed paths at a bar in Charleston, South Carolina, where she was waitressing. She revealed that she was trying to get off from work that night, but as fate would have it, she couldn't.

Enter Liam Payne. Her manager texted her to let her know that she would be waiting for him that night. She revealed that she was "nervous and stopped and turned around." But apparently, Liam was already taken aback, as she revealed that he asked for her number not long after.

The two made things public back in November 2022, and like his other relationships, they shared a rocky bond. In May 2023, seven months into seeing each other, they called it quits but got back together this year.

Aliana Mawla

Liam Payne and model Aliana Mawla shared a brief tryst in 2022. The two met on the set of his music video for his track, Familiar. Not long after, per Hollywood Life, the two were spotted out and about, looking cozy. When fans began tagging his ex-fiancee, Maya Henry, in images of the two together, she chimed in to put a stop to it on Instagram:

"I love all the fans so much, but please stop sending me these pictures of my fiancé wrapped around another woman. This is not me, and it’s hard enough knowing this has happened without seeing it. Enough now.”

Maya Henry

Arguably one of the most high-profile relationships on this list is Henry and Liam Payne, who dated from 2018 to 2022. Notably, a mere week before his passing, the ex-fiancé and model hit Payne with a cease and desist letter. She accused him of repeatedly trying to get in touch with her and her mother against her wish. She also took to TikTok to share a video of her narrating Payne's tactics in trying to catch her eye:

"Ever since we broke up, he messages me, will blow up my phone, not only from his phone number, it’s always from different phone numbers, so I never know where it’s going to come from."

She also revealed that he would contact her friends and family, including her mom. She alleged that Payne would create different emails to text her via iMessage. She accused him of using his fan base against her.

The two made things official in September 2019, and by 2020, Liam popped the big question. However, the two decided to call it quits in June 2021 but rekindled their flame just a few months later. They broke up for good in 2022, as Henry alleged that he cheated.

Cheryl Cole

Cheryl Cole and Liam Payne dated from 2015 to 2018. The 41-year-old is also the mother of his son, Bear Grey Payne. The two first met when Cole was one of the judges of the X Factor show in 2008, where Payne was auditioning. The latter was 14 years old at the time. In speaking with Esquire in May 2020, Payne said, while rewatching his audition,

"Let’s address the elephant in the room. Obviously, the future mother of my son is sitting in that chair. This is now an episode of How I Met Your Mother, so that’s enough of that I think.”

The two were first linked romantically in 2016, not long after Cole parted ways with her ex-husband, Jean-Bernard Fernandez-Versini. The following year, they had their son, and in July 2018, their tryst ended. In announcing their son's birth on Instagram, Cole wrote,

"On Wednesday 22nd March Liam and I became parents to an incredibly beautiful, healthy baby boy, weighing 7lb 9 and looking like a dream. Although he doesn’t have a name he is already stealing hearts. We are all madly in love and overwhelmingly happy with our little arrival. Happy Mother’s Day to all the mothers around the world. A day that now has a different meaning to me forever."

Liam Payne echoed the sentiments in a now-deleted post:

"I’m incredibly happy to welcome our new baby boy into the world; it’s a moment that I will never forget for the rest of my life and my favourite memory I have so far. I’m completely in awe of his incredible mother and how she has been the whole way through this. She’s really made my dreams come true. We haven’t named him yet, but he’s already capturing hearts, including mine. I feel very blessed.”

Sophia Smith

Smith and Liam Payne dated from 2013 to 2015. Elle reported that the two were childhood friends. According to Hollywood Life, a source claimed that a then-21-year-old Smith broke up with Liam because she wasn't ready to "get married and settle down. "

Danielle Peazer

The late Liam Payne dated Peazar between 2010 and 2012. The two met on the same show where he met the mother of his child and, more notably, launched his career, The X Factor. According to Elle, their bond could not survive Payne's demanding career.
