"Donald Trump is running to be an American tyrant" - Bruce Springsteen criticizes the former president at Kamala Harris Georgia rally

Singer Bruce Springsteen criticized former U.S President Donald Trump at Vice President Kamala Harris' Georgia rally on October 24.

Bruce joined the Democratic presidential nominee and took the stage in Atlanta while bashing Trump. While talking about the qualities he looks for the next U.S President, the singer said,

"I want a president who reveres the constitution, who does not threaten but wants to protect and guide our great democracy, who believes in the rule of law and the peaceful transfer of power, who will fight for a woman’s right to choose, and who wants to create a middle-class economy that will serve all our citizens."

He then went on to endorse Harris by adding,

"There is only one candidate in this election who holds those principles dear: Kamala Harris. She’s running to be the 47th president of the United States. Donald Trump is running to be an American tyrant."

Before beginning his speech, the singer perfomed an accoustic rendition of his songs; Land of Hope and Dreams, and Dancing in the Dark.

His recent public speech at the Atlanta, Georgia rally isn't the first time Bruce Springsteen has shown support for Kamla Harris. On October 4, 2024, the singer posted an announcement video on Instagram emphasizing the importance of the elections and compared it with the Civil War.

Springsteen has been an active supporter of the Democratic party and has supported Barack Obama and Joe Biden in their presidential campaigns earlier.

In the recent video, Bruce Springsteen praised Harris and Vice Presidential candidate Tim Walz and their commitment to a "vision of this country that respects and includes everyone, regardless of class religion, race, your political poit of view and s**ual identity" and said that the two want to grow the US economy in a way that "benefits all" and not just the few at the top.

While criticizing Trump, the singer alleged that the former President "doesn't understand the meaning of this country, it's history or what it means to be deeply American." He ended his video by claiming that he will be casting his vote to Harris and Walz.


Few other acclaimed figures such as filmmaker Spike Lee, actor Samuel L Jackson, were also present at the Georgia rally. Harris has been endorsed my multiple Hollywood celebrities including Taylor Swift, Stevie Wonder, Beyonce, Sarah Jessica Parker, Marc Anthony, John Legend, Billie Eilish and more.
