Yes, Adria Arjona worked in a James Gunn movie in 2016. The actress appeared in The Belko Experiment in 2016, which Gunn wrote and produced. In the movie, Arjona plays Leandra Florez, one of the employees trapped in the experiment where they are ordered to kill each other to survive. Gunn also follows the actress on Instagram.

During a recent interview with Extra, Guardians of the Galaxy director James Gunn discussed his movie, Hit Man, and reacted to fan speculation of casting Adria in a DC Universe film,

"I follow Adria on Instagram, but everybody came out (and thought), 'He just followed her, that means she's Wonder Woman. She'd be a great Wonder Woman, by the way."

The director went on to add that he has previously worked with Adria,

"She was in a movie that I made seven years ago. We've been friends and have known each other since that time. I followed her then, I didn't just follow her. People just notice these things all the time."

The director's comments on the actress came after fans took to social media platforms to note that the director, who is co-head of DC Studios follows Adria Arjona on Instagram, and speculated if Adria Arjona is the next pick for a major DC film.

Gunn had earlier revealed during an exclusive interview with Entertainment Weekly, ahead of the launch of Superman, that a Wonder Woman movie is in works at DC.

"We're working on Wonder Woman. Wonder Woman's being written right now."

More about Adria Arjona's recent projects

Adria Arjona was most recently seen as the lead, Bix Caleen, in the Stars Wars series, Andor. Since Star Wars, and the Marvel DC universe share thematic similarities fans were quick to pitch the actress online for the next Wonder Woman role.

The actress, inspired by her role at Andor, added a stick-and-poke tattoo representing Bix to her forearm, as the cast wrapped up production on the series. During a recent interview with Gold Derby in an article published on June 5, Adria mentioned that she got the tattoo on the last day of set, and was inspired by Luke Hull and Michael Wilkinson, the set and costume designers on the show.

While talking about if she would ever pick up Andor again, the actress said that in the current moment, she's "so satisfied" and "really content' with the second season and would "obviously die to play her again."
