As per the official website of CinemaScore, Death of a Unicorn has landed with a B- score.
The film has received critical reviews upon its release. Whilst the performances of Jenna Ortega and Paul Rudd have been lauded, critics have felt that the execution of its satire did not work. The film has also been critiqued for its cliched tropes, and also its CGI work has been criticized as well.
Along with the shaky rating by CinemaScore, this film has received an average score of 6.3/10 at IMDb. At the Rotten Tomatoes, it has received an aggregate of 55%.
But at the popcornmeter scale though, the audience's rating of the film spikes up to 75%. Some audiences have praised the film for its cinematography, humor, and horror elements.
Commercially, Death of a Unicorn has garnered up to a collection of $700K, as per reports at Deadline.
