Sean "Diddy" Combs, arrested last month on charges involving se*ual misconduct, was hit with a litany of lawsuits on Sunday- the latest of which alleges he abused a 13-year-old girl in 2000, along with two unnamed celebrities, male and female. The plaintiff, who goes by Jane Doe, is being represented by lawyer Tony Buzbee, who is also in charge of several other lawsuits in the same vein.
According to the action, filed based on the Violation of New York City Victims of Gender-Motivated Violence Protection Act, Jane Doe, now around 37, was abused at an MTV VMAs after-party on September 7, 2000. That night, she was looking for a "place to rest" when, Deadline reported,
"Soon after, Combs, along with a male and female celebrity, entered the room. Combs aggressively approached Plaintiff with a crazed look in his eyes, grabbed her, and said, ‘You are ready to party!'”
Diddy allegedly plunged Jane Doe into a "deep depression" that affects her to this day
The action, which details the instances leading up to the incident, reads:
"Looking for a place to rest, Plaintiff entered what she believed to be an empty bedroom so she could lie down for a moment."
The statement continued, noting that the teenager felt “woozy and lightheaded” after having one drink at the party. That's when Diddy and the two others entered. According to the report, all three of them then allegedly forced themselves on Jane Doe. Further details like their names remain under wraps.
After the incident, the alleged victim left the room, exited “the large white house with a gated U-shaped driveway," and rang up her dad to come and take her home. Per the suit, the "Plaintiff fell into a deep depression which continues to affect every facet of her life” after the assault. Buzbee also contends that over 120 accusers are gearing up to come forward with a lawsuit against the now-disgraced mogul.
Notably, Combs maintains his innocence. Buzbee filed the first batch of six lawsuits just last week, bringing it up to 12 as of Sunday. In the second set, two John Does and three Jane Does have come forward against Diddy, all alleging abuse and more. Several of them even contend that the mogul spiked their drinks to get them to comply with his wishes.
The dates and places of these alleged instances vary, with some as recent as 2022 and 2014 and others that date back over 20 years, strewn across cities like New York, LA, and Las Vegas. According to Deadline, all of the cases point out that the purported victims could not enter the parties unless they signed an NDA.
Diddy is currently detained at the Metropolitan Detention Center in New York, where he awaits his court date, slated for May 5, 2025. If convicted, the billionaire mogul faces life behind bars.
