“Blessed to be in this wonderful space suit”: Tim Allen makes his feelings known on wrapping up Toy Story 5

The forthcoming Toy Story 5 is the sequel to Toy Story 4 and the fifth entry in the overall franchise. The animated comedy film is written and directed by Andrew Stanton and will be released theatrically by Walt Disney Pictures on June 19, 2026. Tim Allen has reprised his voice acting for the role of Buzz Lightyear. The actor spoke about wrapping up his work for the film in a recent social media post. He wrote,

"Blessed to be in this wonderful space suit for so many years."

Tim Allen shares his feelings after wrapping Toy Story 5

Tim Allen recently took to X (formerly Twitter) to share his feelings after wrapping up Toy Story 5. The actor has lent his voice to Buzz Lightyear in the franchise. He wrote,

“I did wrap my part in Toy Story 5 Friday. Really affected me. I love these creators and love this story and blessed to be in this wonderful space suit for so many years.”

In December last year, Allen praised the script and called it a "clever story."

“It’s a very, very clever story. I don’t really believe it’s about the money. I’m sure they want it to be a success, but that’s not why they did it. Had they not come up with a brilliant script, they wouldn’t have done it and they wouldn’t have called me and Tom [Hanks]. It’s really clever.”

He further spoke about his five-hour session for the character.

"It was really a struggle to get, and then maybe two hours in, I was doing Buzz. I’m so blessed to be Buzz Lightyear, to be honest. It’s gonna be fun. I think we’re a year out. I’ve gotten up to the third act. We’ll do the third act. And then, we’ll go back and clean it. And then, I’ll do it about five more times. It’s a really good story, guys.”

Toy Story 5 will be released theatrically on June 19, 2026.
