YouTube star Sean Evans, in an exclusive interview with People Magazine on May 14, opened up about his question-creation process for his immensely popular YouTube show, Hot Ones. As Evans was attending YouTube's Upfront Brandcast in New York City, held at Lincoln Center's David Geffen Hall, he discussed with the outlet his method behind his deep dive questions.
When People Magazine found him on the red carpet of YouTube's big event on May 14, they took the opportunity to ask him about his question-creation process for Hot Ones. The 39-year-old YouTube celebrity said:
"You know what? A lot of the time, it's just kind of staring at a wall for 10, 15 minutes until something comes to you."
Produced by First We Feast and hosted by Sean Evans, Hot Ones was released on March 12, 2015, and it was an instant hit. The show's first season consisted of eight episodes. So far, there are 26 seasons of the show. Evans, besides being the host of the show, is also the co-creator.
It is not only the celebrity guests on the show who are surprised and at times shocked by his questions, but even the audiences feel the same. Evans' unique and interesting quality is how he transitions from the most basic and surface-level questions to in-depth, thoughtful questions on the show. Interestingly, he is also widely known and often praised for his research skills. He is one of the hosts who does intense research about their guests, which most of the time impresses them.
With millions of views on almost every episode, Hot Ones, over the years, has gained a huge fan base. One of the reasons why the show turned out to be a hit is because of its distinct concept. While Evans fires his questions to his guests on the hot seat, they have to gorge on chicken wings with extremely spicy hot sauce on them.
Sean Evans opens up about his successful career

While talking about the success that he has received over the years, the prominent YouTube creator said:
"We've been doing it for a long time. But I feel like that's always a hard Rubik's Cube to snap into place. So I'm still just trying my best, you know?"
Evans continued and revealed that he not only creates the questions, but also lets the people in his inner circle help him, with whom he started the show back in the day. Sean added:
"It's actually the same core group as it was in season 1 as it is today. Like me, Chris [Schonberger], my little brother, Gavin, together, we just try our best."
Top celebrities like Justin Timberlake, Jennifer Lawrence, Jeff Goldblum, Ricky Gervais, Paul Rudd, Michael B. Jordan, Hailee Steinfeld, and many others have appeared on Sean Evans' Hot Ones.
