Though it faced several delays, Kraven the Hunter is now set to be released on December 13, 2024. Initially planned for October 2023 and later moved to August 2024, the release date was pushed back. There hasn't been an official reason for the delay to December 2024.

This change might align with other adjustments Sony has made to its release schedule. Kraven the Hunter will also be released on Netflix, as Sony and Netflix have already struck a deal.

What is the story of Kraven the Hunter?

The exact plot of Kraven the Hunter is still a mystery at the time this article was published. However, the trailer suggests it will portray him more as an antihero than his typical villain role. This change might be because of Kraven's traumatic childhood, his relationship with his father, played by Russell Crowe Nikolai Kravinoff, and his quest for revenge.

The final movie might show a darker, more ruthless version of Kraven. Notably, the film places Kraven's childhood in modern times, indicating significant changes to his backstory.

Fans and critics have long debated whether Kraven is a villain or an antihero. He began as a clear-cut villain, driven by his desire to become the world's greatest hunter.

However, later comic stories and the trailer show a different side to him. Sometimes, he is guided by a twisted sense of honor and seeks redemption, which adds depth to his character and presents him more as an antihero in some stories.

Is Kraven in the MCU?

With new details emerging, there is speculation that Kraven the Hunter might connect to the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). Tom Holland's Spider-Man has appeared in his MCU trilogy, Homecoming, Far From Home, No Way Home, and other team-up movies, but hasn't yet crossed over with Sony’s Spider-Man Universe (SSU). Kraven seems unlikely to be introduced into the MCU, but he will almost certainly be set in the same universe as Venom and Morbius.
