American television journalist and senior correspondent for CBS News, Norah O’Donnell, addressed Donald Trump as “Mr Trump” instead of “Mr President” during their recent conversation on her show, 60 Minutes.
O’Donnell is married to her college sweetheart and prominent restaurateur, Geoff Tracy, who is the owner of the popular Washington D.C. restaurant chain, Chef Geoff’s. They have three children.
Conservatives are now rallying online to call her out for addressing the POTUS as Mr Trump instead of Mr President. Here are some of the criticisms from X.
“I'm already mad as heck, and I'm 2 minutes in, as soon as I heard ‘Mr. Trump,’” a netizen wrote.
“Yes. Always with the subtle little digs and disrespect. And there is, of course, the blatant digs and disrespect. So, business as usual over at 60 Minutes. I am surprised that I am surprised. Big sigh,” another netizen wrote.
“Does she think not calling him president is ok? Her bias is so apparent. Send Norah to MSNBC,” a user wrote.
“So disrespectful. How does anyone watch Norah the nobody?” another user asked.
Meanwhile, others defended Norah O’Donnell.
“I honestly think it was a good interview,” a person wrote.
“He doesn't deserve respect. Why would he deserve respect when he respects no one?” a person asked.
“He's Mr Trump...” an individual wrote.
As revealed by Norah O’Donnell, the interview was filmed on the 31st day of the federal government shutdown, aka, Friday, October 31, 2025. CBS News later dropped the segment on the evening of November 2.
During the segment, Donald Trump touched upon his $10 billion lawsuit against Paramount, the parent company of CBS, which was later settled for $16 million. Trump sued the media conglomerate, claiming they “deceptively edited” an interview featuring him and his 2024 presidential opponent and former Vice President Kamala Harris.
He also spoke about Bari Weiss taking over CBS News following a leadership change at Paramount, adding that the network now has a “great new leader.” Trump last appeared on 60 Minutes in 2020.
