Glen Powell recently spoke about his much anticipated Captain Planet movie, and unfortunately, he did not have a positive update about the same. The actor revealed that the movie was no longer in his hands.
Glen Powell first got involved with the Captain Planet movie back in 2016, and then later in 2022, he reiterated that he was still interested in the movie, and there were talks about Leonardo DiCaprio taking on a producer's role for the movie.
Captain Planet is a popular 1990s cartoon superhero, who protects the Earth from polluters and others who harm the universe. Glen Powell was among the actors who expressed an active interest in playing the superhero in a movie adaptation, but it seems that he is no longer involved in the project.

Glen Powell reveals he is no longer involved in the live adaptation of the Captain Planet movie
During a recent interview while promoting his latest Hulu original series, Chad Powers, Powell was asked a question about his role in the live adaptation.
While Powell wished the team good luck, he informed the fans that he is no longer involved with the project.
"That one's no longer in my hands. Yeah, they're going to take it and run with it, but yeah, I wish them the best on that one. I've been a passionate fan of Captain Planet since I was a kid. Obviously, some things that you make in this town find their way quickly, and some of 'em don't, and there was a lot of rights holders and things like that around it. A lot of opinions, so I'm no longer the guy running with the baton, but they're going to make something great, I'm sure."
While Glen Powell revealed that he has been a passionate fan of the superhero since his childhood, he is no longer involved in the live adaptation of the 1990s cartoon. However, this does not mean that the movie is not taking place anymore.

While fans will not be seeing Glen Powell in a leading role in the live version of the 1990s cartoon, the live adaptation is still in the works and is being produced by Leonardo DiCaprio and Greg Berlanti. When it is ready to be released, the live adaptation will be available to stream on Netflix.
