American actress Nicole Kidman and her popular rock husband, Keith Urban, have shaken the internet with the news of their split. On Monday, September 29, TMZ reported in an exclusive publication that the couple, who have been married for nine years, had split.
According to the report, Keith got a new Nashville residence and moved out of his home.
“Keith has acquired his own residence in Nashville and has moved out of their family home.”
Nicole Kidman didn't support the separation. She has been solely taking care of their two children and is “holding the family together through this difficult time since Keith has been gone.”
The couple married in June 2006 after first meeting at the 2005 Met Gala. They share two kids- Sunday, 17, and Faith, 14.

Keith Urban and Nicole Kidman first met at the 2005 Met Gala. The couple married the following year in a candlelit ceremony at St. Patrick's Estate in the beachside suburb of Manly in Sydney. The couple had their honeymoon in French Polynesia.
Months after their marriage, Keity struggled with alcohol abuse, and Kidman helped him through it. In a 2014 interview with Rolling Stone, the singer thanked Kidman for her intervention, adding he felt “very, very blessed.”
After Keith’s release from rehab, the couple moved to Nashville for a quiet farm life.
“We don't want to live in a compound. It's the great thing about Tennessee, and especially Nashville. The people are just real people, so they just accept you being neighbors,” Keith told People magazine in 2007.
On July 7, 2008, Keith and Kidman welcomed their first child, Sunday Rose.
“We feel immensely blessed and grateful to be given this beautiful baby girl. She's an absolute delight,” the couple said in a statement.
“We want to thank everybody that has kept us in their thoughts and prayers. We feel very blessed and grateful that we can share this joy with all of you today,” Keith wrote on his website.
The couple welcomed their second child, Faith Margaret, through surrogacy on December 28, 2010.
“Our family is truly blessed, and just so thankful, to have been given the gift of baby Faith Margaret. No words can adequately convey the incredible gratitude that we feel for everyone who was so supportive throughout this process, in particular, our gestational carrier,” the couple said in a statement.
Over the years, the couple have often shared how they find strength in one another. In September 2025, after nearly ten years of marriage, it was reported that the couple had separated.
