All you need to know about Shaun the Sheep: Adventures from Mossy Bottom
Shaun the Sheep has been a popular show since it was first released in 2007. It is a silent, animated children's television series that follows a sheep called Shaun from the Mossy Bottom Farm in Northern England, who doesn't follow his flock. Instead, he leads his flock, but not in the way one expects. He tries to make their day-to-day lives fun and adventurous, but ends up making them troublesome. The sheepdog Bitzer also partakes in the adventures and is sometimes against some of them. But they all do their best to keep all this away from their farmer.
The show has had seven series till now, which have aired on multiple networks and platforms like CBBC, Netflix, BBC One, and Kika. While the show has entertained children for years, the films have also managed to hold on to the same humor and essence of the show. Shaun the Sheep: The Beast of Mossy Bottom is the latest addition to the franchise, which has the following synopsis:
Shaun the Sheep: The Beast of Mossy Bottom sees the residents of Mossy Bottom Farm looking forward to Halloween – until the clumsy Farmer trashes the Flock’s beloved pumpkin patch! When Shaun turns mad scientist to fix the problem, things rapidly spiral out of control... With The Farmer missing and a wild beast roaming the woods of Mossingham, all the ingredients are in place for a monstrously fun family adventure.
The teaser of Shaun the Sheep: The Beast of Mossy Bottom shows Shaun and the other sheep looking forward to Halloween, standing at a window with a pumpkin on the windowsill. Suddenly, they feel the thump of someone big, almost like a beast, since it shakes them hard. Looking at the path in front, they see a beast walking towards them, which makes them understandably terrified. All the sheep run away from the window, presumably looking for someplace safe to hide, while Shaun closes the window, crushing the pumpkin in the process.
The film has been produced by Aardman, Sky, and StudioCanal. Sky will handle distribution for the UK. Outside the UK, Studiocanal will be the global partner for the film. The film has been written by Mark Burton and Giles Pilbrow and directed by Steve Cox and Matthew Walker.
Shaun the Sheep: The Beast of Mossy Bottom will be released in theaters on Halloween 2026. You can stream selective seasons of the show on Netflix and Prime Video.
