On Days of our Lives, the mystery of Sophia’s "adopted" baby and the sabotage of Holly’s life have become Salem’s central drama. However, the turmoil has escalated lately, with the walls closing in on Sophia. Her laundry list of secrets and lies is boiling over into everyone's lives, with the chaos decimating Holly and Tate's relationship and crushing Johnny and Chanel's dreams of adoption. While Holly remains clueless, Johnny and Chanel put the pieces together on Wednesday's new episode, realizing she is responsible for sending the sexts from Holly's phone. Their discovery, coupled with Sarah learning Tate isn't the father, means a widespread revelation of the truth is inevitable.
Once everything's out in the open, nobody's life will ever be the same, but some people will be impacted more than others. Naturally, Sophia (Rachel Boyd) will be impacted because her deceit will put a target on her back, but she leaves a trail of devastation in her wake.
Holly and Tate

Holly's at the point where leaving Salem behind feels like her only option. Regardless of how hard he tried to make things work with Tate (Leo Howard), his latest misstep with Sophia, the fire that nearly claimed her life, and sexts to Johnny are too much to handle. Escaping Salem is her primary focus, but if Johnny (Carson Boatman) and Chanel (Raven Bowens) can coax the truth out of Sophia before Holly's (Ashley Puzemis) set to leave town, perhaps there's a chance for her and Tate. Holly needs one bright spot in her life to have a reason to remain in town, and the truth coming out could do that.
Having a baby with Sophia put the most significant wedge in Holly and Tate's relationship, so learning he is not the father could change everything. There's a possibility of another reconciliation if she's able to accept his latest stunt of seduction. All he wanted was to know what really happened to his child with Sophia, but since we officially know he's not the father, the pain may subside enough to give the young couple a new lease on love.
Tate's questionable truth extraction tactics from Sophia might serve as a barrier, but knowing he doesn't share a baby with her should soften Holly's concrete wall. However, this is entirely contingent on Sophia being exposed before Holly boards a flight to Paris and never looks back.
Johnny and Chanel

Besides Holly and Tate, the other Salem residents who stand to be most affected are Johnny and Chanel. They've gone through many consecutive hurdles to secure Chanel's dream of adopting a baby, but Sophia dashed their latest attempt. The sexts from Holly reached Johnny's phone just in time for the social worker to see them, but unbeknownst to Sophia, they figured her out, and her bubble of deception is on the verge of popping. She's one more confrontation away from cracking under pressure and confessing everything. However, once everyone knows Sophia is truly Tesoro's birth mother and Tate is not the father, where will that leave the would-be parents?
For now, Johnny and Chanel believe they have the smoking gun to prove that Sophia used Holly's phone and sabotaged their adoption desires. The primary issue, though, is what happens once everyone learns the reality about Tesoro? Tate isn't his father, so that means the birth father has never been involved, and quite honestly, it wouldn't be out of the realm of possibility for him to stake a claim once all is revealed. Johnny and Chanel want so badly to raise this baby boy and give him a wonderful life, but they keep getting cut down.
They've tried to adopt Sophia's baby before, but she pulled the wool over everyone's eyes, pretending to give the child to a family in Chicago. Chanel and Johnny are closer than ever to finally realizing their dreams of parenthood. This should be their moment, but the revelation about Sophia and her baby will be another step back, leaving them heartbroken and back to the starting point.
