Welcome to the Days of our Lives Daily Y.A.P.P. (Your After-Program Ponderings) for a quick — and by that, I mean you’re already halfway done — recap of the most amazing or what-the-heck-did-we-just-watch moments on today’s episode. Let’s get to it:

What Happened on Days of our Lives

Let's talk about secrets, lies, and the truth — three essential things that make soaps go 'round. Despite Sarah's pleas for Stephanie to ruin her love life to save Sarah's love life, Stephanie actually told the truth. That means we weren't going to have to watch this Three's Company-esque misunderstanding mess of Alex believing Philip and Stephanie were having an affair just because Xander overheard something and jumped to the wrong conclusion. Hallelujah! Someone told the truth in record time. How often does that happen on a soap? Just minutes later, Alex told Philip the truth when he admitted that he knew about the forged letter from Victor. More honesty! Who ever heard of such a thing? Then, the lie came, and we felt all deflated. Alex told Xander that yep, Steph and Philip were having an affair, but it was now over, and Alex forgave it all. Sarah and Philip breathed sighs of relief, while Xander looked hella confused. Now, Xander is the only one who doesn't know that he's been played for a fool and duped for months — all because Sarah is worried about his murderous instincts, which is a problem unto itself. DAYS came so close to breaking the soap secret mold all in one episode, but it just couldn't manage it. How many more months do we now have to listen to multiple people fretting that Xander will learn the truth and go on a killer rampage throughout Salem? This is all thanks to the second forged letter regarding Victor's will — and the man died less than two years ago!
