Here's what Days of Our Lives' Brandon Beemer thinks of the Belle and EJ pairing

The split of Shawn (Brandon Beemer) and Belle (Martha Madison) on Days of Our Lives was not unexpected. The two had grown apart, and together were quite frankly boring. Belle moved on with EJ (Dan Feuerriegel), whom she recently declared her love for. Shawn heard her say that, sending him reeling. But he had slept with Jada (Elia Cantu) when she thought Rafe (Galen Gering) had gone off the rails, and after later learning that they broke up, he seemed intrigued. Beemer recently opened up about Shawn’s ex being with the slimy DiMera.

EJ is bad news

Beemer talked to Soap Opera Digest and stated that Shawn and Jada understand each other completely. “There are no secrets with Jada. She knows what Shawn is going through, and she understands it,” he remarked. The actor revealed that Shawn thought Belle and EJ’s hookup was a short-term thing and that they’d have gone their separate ways by now. But they didn’t, and like magnets, are continually drawn to each other.

The Days of Our Lives star quoted his own character by saying, “Anything bad that happens in Salem, EJ is tied to in some way or another,” after referring to EJ as “bad news.” Because EJ always has a nefarious scheme going on, Shawn gets worried that he’ll pull Belle into his web, and something bad might happen. “He’s worried that EJ is going to hurt her, because he’s not a good person,” he stated, adding, “It just doesn’t make sense to Shawn that Belle doesn’t see that, because she’s super-smart.”

Putting things behind them

Beemer also explained that it would seem Belle and Shawn are truly over, and they’re moving on with other people. He said his character’s goal now is to put his relationship with Belle in the past, noting that both will never stop loving one another. However, he felt that forging ahead separately is difficult because, “it’s hard when you have this woman that’s the love of your life, and you’ve got to move on, especially in a small town like Salem.”

The outlet posted a link to the article on Instagram, which got the fans talking about a potential pairing of Shawn and Jada. Days of Our Lives fan, @jazzydreamer88, commented, “Jada and Shawn have 🔥🔥chemistry and I really love them together. I think they could have a beautiful romance🥰.”

@tracyanita71 chimed in with, “Works for me. AFAIC Shelle ended with the recast. The characters are shells (no pun intended) of their former selves. I don't even recognize them. Brandon is tolerable but that's it. As long as these roles are the current players it's great SDBs new romance.”

And while a few didn’t like the new pairing and would prefer Shawn and Belle get back together, @masnataliepatrice wrote, “I love Jada and Shawn, they have good chemistry. I would love for them to become a couple. I can’t wait to see more of their scenes together❤️.”
