Days of our Lives spoilers, October 23: Alex and Chanel have a big surprise for Johnny

What to expect on Days of our Lives

Johnny's (Carson Boatman) paranoid jealousy over Alex (Robert Scott Wilson) and Chanel's (Raven Bowens) working relationship led him to get drunk at Small Bar and meet a young woman. Johnny poured out his sorrows as the bartender poured booze, leading the audience to wonder what really happened.

The next morning, Johnny is back at work directing Body and Soul scenes at the hospital. He does not know that Alex and Chanel have a secret, but it's not the kind of secret he thinks it is.

Despite Johnny acting strangely of late, Chanel wants to surprise her husband on his birthday and arranges a party for him at the hospital. Will Johnny feel foolish when he sees what Chanel did, or will he open his mouth and accuse her of cheating before the party even begins?

Johnny's irrational fears might just cost him his marriage, especially if one thing led to another with the young woman he met the night before. Johnny might have a whole lot of explaining to do, but will it be too little, too late?

Joy gets her wish

The young woman Johnny met at Small Bar was Joy Wesley (AlexAnn Hopkins). She is in town to audition for Body and Soul and has no idea the man she met is the soap opera's director. She just wants a part and uses her mother's connections to snag an audition.

Nancy (Patrika Darbo) begs Bonnie (Judi Evans) to help her, so Bonnie approaches Kate (Lauren Koslow) and Abe (James Reynolds) to tell them that Chloe Lane's (Nadia Bjorlin) sister is also a performer and wants to audition for Body and Soul. They finally relent to see what Joy can do, but a fiery Chanel is her scene partner.

Joy's audition doesn't appear to go quite as planned, but will she wow Abe and Kate anyway? Also, will Johnny show up in the middle of the audition and realize he just made the biggest mistake of his life?
