Days of our Lives Spoilers, May 20: A new beginning for Shawn and Belle?

What to expect on Days of our Lives

Belle (Martha Madison) might be involved with EJ (Daniel Feuerriegel) — and even claims to be in love with him — and Shawn (Brandon Beemer) might have a thing for Jada (Elia Cantu), but somehow Belle and Shawn always end up back with each other.

Whenever they see one another, they can't help but sit and talk, bringing them closer with each new encounter. On Tuesday, Belle and Shawn run into one another at the Brady Pub, where Shawn pours out his heart over Bo's (Peter Reckell) sad fate and Belle shares her relief that John (the late Drake Hogestyn) has been found.

Their fathers are both in precarious situations, but at least John is on his way home. Sadly, Bro remains in a coma and may not make it. Will Shawn fill Belle in on the latest, just as her dad is ready to touch down in Salem and ask to play hero again, as that is just who John is?

Belle and Shawn will spend the next few days on edge, worried about their fathers. All seems well with John right now, but the situation could reverse itself in an instant.

JJ and Gabi have it out

It's a big day for Gabi (Cherie Jimenez) when her daughter Arianna (Marissa Reyes) arrives in town for a visit, but first, she has to deal with JJ (Casey Moss) and their unresolved feelings for one another. Gabi is still smarting over JJ accusing her of shooting EJ, while JJ just wants Gabi to finally hear him out.

After all these weeks of Gabi doing her best to shut JJ out, JJ finally gets her to listen, but things do not go well at all. In fact, they could end up more at odds than ever before. Gabi is not about to let things go, and JJ is not about to compromise an investigation for the sake of his girlfriend.

How long can JJ and Gabi remain at a stalemate before one of them gives in? That question might have to be put on hold when Gabi sees that her daughter could be a chip off the old block.
