Marlena visited Leo at his place. Leo explained that he had been too busy working on his scripts and apologized for canceling his Drag Race date with Marlena. She congratulated him on the job but added that she had come by for another reason. With a flourish, Marlena proclaimed that she wanted Leo to fire Hattie because Marlena had decided to accept the role of Charlemagne. Leo was reluctant, so Marlena reminded him that they were “BFFs” and that working on Body & Soul was her “dream job.”

Leo argued that Hattie had a contract and that the show would have to pay Hattie regardless. Marlena countered that she would work for free, as she was rich and didn’t need the money. She sweetened the deal by offering Leo free therapy for a year. Marlena again demanded Leo help her become the “it girl.” Leo believed it wouldn’t be fair to Hattie, and Marlena exclaimed to “Forget about that broad!” She quickly corrected her phrasing after Leo raised an eyebrow.

Marlena told Leo that he had a choice: her or Hattie. Leo stood firm, even after Marlena brought up Leo’s involvement in the baby switch. Marlena huffed that she had never been more offended in her life. “Or more touched,” she added as she broke into an exaggerated sob. Leo realized that “Marlena” had been Hattie the whole time, and Hattie confirmed his suspicion by giving him a big hug. Just as Leo sighed that he’d had enough of doppelgängers, Bonnie stormed in with demands for a script change.

Bonnie commanded that Leo tell her why "Charlemagne" had gotten more and better scenes than "Kassandra," when Kassandra was “the star of the show.” Hattie stepped in and defended "Charlemagne," and miscommunication ensued as Bonnie initially believed Hattie to be Marlena. When Hattie revealed her true identity, she and Bonnie bantered back and forth about who was the real star of the show, to Leo’s chagrin.

At the Brady Pub, Roman joined Kate for a meal. When he expressed relief that he had closed the pub for the day, Kate suggested that Roman close the restaurant a couple of days per week. Roman was reticent about the pub being empty, and Kate made the case that Body & Soul could be filmed inside the pub during the off days. Roman scoffed at the idea of his family’s pub being turned into a production set. Kate contested that many businesses rented out their space to such productions, and she cajoled Roman to reconsider for the sake of his best friend, Abe.

Kate further sold the merchandising and tourism opportunities for Roman should he agree. He eventually relented, and Kate hugged him. When he stated that he wanted the show to be a success, Kate asked Roman to convince Kayla to let her and Abe use the hospital as a set.

Later, Bonnie entered the pub and began ranting to Roman about “the hack” and “the diva” she had to work with. Before Roman could get a word in, Hattie arrived, as well. She and Bonnie resumed their argument. Both women turned to Roman and asked who would make the better cover model for a soap opera magazine. Roman exercised his right to remain silent.

At Abe and Paulina’s place, Paulina read an online article about Brady’s confession. She and Abe chatted about the unbelievability of the developments. Paulina wanted to turn the subject to happier news and beamed that Abe was going to make “my baby girl a star.” Paulina giddily imagined the day when Shemar Moore would be handing her daughter Daytime Emmys. Abe cautioned Paulina that Chanel had not auditioned yet, but Paulina was certain that Chanel would nail the audition.

Paulina’s tempered her enthusiasm when Abe said that he was considering Alex for the role of Chanel’s love interest. Abe was confused as to why Paulina would have a problem with Alex, and Paulina clarified that Johnny would have the problem. Abe’s expression changed when Paulina referenced Alex’s previous tryst with Chanel and Allie. Paulina scolded Abe even more after she discovered that Abe had not alerted Johnny or Chanel to Alex’s potential hiring.

Abe promised to make it right and tried to get in touch with Chanel, to no avail. Later, Kate visited Abe to tell him about Roman agreeing to let them use the pub for filming. Paulina informed Kate that Abe had another mess to clean up.

Alex dropped by Stephanie’s place to check on the status of her laptop that he had broken. Alex briefly brought up Brady’s arrest and worried that Justin having taken on the case would further tear the family apart. Stephanie sympathized with Alex. When he asked about the laptop, she assured him that she had gotten the job without it. Alex learned that Stephanie would also be working on Body & Soul.

Alex in turn told Stephanie about his upcoming audition for the role of "Arrow." Stephanie was surprised and asked Alex if he was prepared for an acting job. Alex stated his belief that it would be easy to read lines and pretend to be someone else, but Stephanie thought it would be difficult to make his character believable.

After Alex described his character as “a heartthrob with washboard abs,” Stephanie snarked that Alex didn’t “stand a chance.” Alex chided Stephanie for the joking insult and admitted he was nervous about the audition. She offered to help him run his lines. Alex handed Stephanie the script, and they acted out a scene in which “Arrow” declared “Faith” to be the “love of my life.”

Once Alex finished the scene, Stephanie deemed it “Daytime Emmy worthy.” As Alex resumed the audition, he fumbled some lines, and Stephanie encouraged him to continue. He slowly got back into the scene, which ended with him staring into Stephanie’s eyes. Stephanie seemed affected by the moment. The ending of the script called for a kiss.

Alex and Stephanie pulled away, and Alex awkwardly said that he should save something for the audition. He thanked Stephanie for helping him and then left.

Later, Leo stopped by Stephanie’s place to compliment her on the PR piece she had done on him for the show. Both Stephanie and Leo anxiously anticipated Body & Soul’s official launch.

At the DiMera mansion, Chanel practiced her audition scene for Body & Soul. Johnny entered the room, and Chanel excitedly gushed about taking part in “streaming’s hottest new soap opera.” When Johnny asked if Chanel would be okay with cutting back at the bakery if she got the part, Chanel jokingly responded that she already had the part because she understood her character so well. She assured Johnny that she could juggle her bakery duties with the acting, especially since she would get to spend more time with Johnny. Chanel wondered if her love interest had been cast, and Johnny mentioned that Abe had someone in mind.

Johnny simultaneously hoped for someone capable and “fugly” for the part. Chanel warned him not to wish “bad juju” on her future scene partner. Chanel talked up Johnny’s capabilities as a director and asked him to practice the audition scene with her. The couple read through the scene and ended it with a kiss. Chanel hoped she could generate as much chemistry in the kiss with her co-star as she had with Johnny.

Johnny suggested that he and Chanel go upstairs to “rehearse” the love scene, and Chanel happily acquiesced. Later, Chanel and Johnny arrived at the production office for her audition. They were both shocked and displeased when Alex sauntered in and announced that he would be auditioning opposite Chanel.
