Abe and Lexie were at home, and he was reading the paper. The headlines screamed about the body found in the ice. She acted really odd about all of it, and Abe was puzzled by her behavior. Lexie rushed off, not telling Abe where she was going. Meanwhile, Stefano was at the mansion, playing with a board game, when Aliana walked in with the paper, but he didn't want to be bothered with happenings in Salem and ran her off.

Lexie showed up and wanted to see Stefano privately. They went into the study, and she was furious with him. She demanded to know what had happened to Marlo. He was in the dark, so she told him about the body as she cried hysterically and showed him the paper. She was angry that she had followed his advice and felt she should have followed her own instincts and gone to the cops in the first place. She was terrified that she would end up losing Isaac.

Stefano blurted out that Isaac wasn't Marlo's child. He covered to a stunned Lexie by saying that Isaac was her child. He told her not to worry; he would take care of everything. After finding out all the details, he promised to help her under one condition: she finally gave in and admitted that she was a true DiMera. She promised to make him a part of her and Isaac's lives then hugged and thanked him. After she left, Stefano yelled down to the basement for Rolf, telling him they had a body to steal.

After Lexie left, Abe went to visit Brandon. Before Abe showed up, Brandon was on the phone with Angela, telling her to stay in Italy with her father. He would join her later, and they would get married. Abe wanted to talk with Brandon, but Brandon was extremely rude to him, calling him something cruel. They argued over Abe's relationship with Fay as Abe tried to explain that he had only been trying to protect their family.

Brandon accused Abe and Fay of having an affair and went on about how Abe had destroyed their lives and broken his mother's heart. Abe said it was a lie, and Brandon tried to choke him. Abe got him by the arm, twisted him down to his knees, and yelled at him to stay off his back. After he stormed out, Brandon had flashbacks of his dad beating him then thanked Abe forgiving him the ammunition he needed.

Belle and Chloe were at school, headed for class, as Shawn pumped Philip as to what he had given Chloe for Christmas. He asked if Philip had given her a ring. Mimi and Jan were discussing their plan as Jason showed up and teased Jan with a stuffed mouse. They all headed to class as Shawn sat by Belle, and Philip by Chloe. Jan, Mimi, and Jason watched them from the door.

Mimi was scared of Chloe and wanted to call off the plan, but Jan was determined. Jan commented on how Nancy had to be a witch, as well, as Mimi defended Nancy. Jan dragged Mimi into class, and as she chanted, "Witch, witch," Shawn and Belle both yelled for her to shut up. The two young couples were daydreaming, with Belle thinking about her and Shawn skating, as Chloe remembered the poem. The teacher called on Chloe to answer a question, which embarrassed her. Jan giggled, and the teacher scolded her.

After class, Philip and Chloe talked as Shawn, to Belle, referred to them as Romeo and Juliet. Jan and Mimi rushed off to check on the camera. Mimi continued to try to talk Jan out of the plan. Jason stopped by and told Belle that if Philip ever dumped Chloe, Shawn would surely go after her.

Roman and Marlena were at the Java Caf. Roman offered her his support and reassured her that all wasn't her fault. However, she blamed herself for all the troubles and didn't feel worthy of anyone's support. They talked about Brady's hatred of her, and she said that she didn't really blame him for the way he felt. Marlena couldn't understand how Roman could be so supportive after the way she had hurt him years earlier. She told him that she knew he still had feelings for her.

Roman told Marlena his feelings were of friendship, and he wanted her to fight for her life and marriage. He assured her that he just wanted to help. She told him that she really needed a friend at that moment. She considered him a friend but said that was all they could be. He accepted that relationship as he held her hand.

Jennifer sat outside on the bench near the stairs, and John stopped by and offered her hot chocolate. Seeing she was troubled, he asked how she was. She started to talk about her situation with Jack but stopped. She turned the question around and asked about him and Marlena. He didn't want to talk either. He promised if she would, so would he. He told her some of his problems, especially those between Marlena and Brady.

Jennifer couldn't understand the problem. John told her there was more, but he couldn't go into it. She offered encouragement and support. Then she talked, and it was obvious that she still had feelings for Jack. John wanted to know what Jack had done to hurt her, but she said that she couldn't talk about it just then. She thanked John for being a friend as he encouraged her to stay in Salem among family and friends.

John and Jennifer talked about how excited Alice was to have Jennifer and Abby there. John offered to buy her a coffee, and she accepted. As they walked, John talked about Roman's involvement in his problems and his belief that Roman was still in love with Marlena. As they turned the corner, they saw Roman and Marlena at Java Caf, and John grew upset. Jennifer told him that things were not always as they appeared, but he said sometimes they were. He disclosed that he had told Roman to stay away from his wife. Jennifer tried to stop him as he stormed over to their table.

Philip confided to Shawn that he actually hated opera but couldn't tell opera-lover Chloe. He did confess that he was in love with Chloe. Shawn advised him that admitting to being in love could ruin one's life. When Brady and Chloe started arguing, Belle tried to mediate but gave up on the two. The tone of the argument changed when they started arguing about opera singers and ended up laughing together.

Greta and Austin dined at a French restaurant, but Greta felt self-conscious, as most of the locals recognized her as the Von Amberg princess. Too nervous to eat, Greta was escorted out to a veranda to watch the evening sky and a sudden fireworks display, seemingly in her honor. Austin assured her that if he were a prince, he would want a princess like her.

Brandon complained to Sami about his confrontation with Abe. Angela called from Italy with the news that she was ready to marry Brandon. He promised that he and Sami would be on the next flight to Italy.

John interrupted Roman and Marlena as they embraced. After Roman left, John pleaded with Marlena to return home where she was needed, and she agreed. Jennifer urged Roman to forget about Marlena. Back at home, Brady fumed when Marlena returned.

Alice told Jennifer how happy she was to have her there and how much she had missed her. However, she felt something was troubling Jennifer, and Jennifer said she had just been reading news in the paper. Jennifer went to the kitchen for a doughnut fix, and Alice spotted a circled ad for an "apartment for rent." Jennifer returned, and Alice started telling her it was time she and Abby found a place of their own. Jennifer began to protest but realized Alice had seen the ad and had just been making it easy for her.

Hope called, inviting Jennifer over to Lexie's, and Jennifer agreed. She told Alice she wanted to check on Abby at school, since it was her first day, and they had a wonderful heart-to-heart chat. Alice said Abby was dying to see her father and asked what Jennifer was going to do about it. Jennifer said she couldn't do anything and had hoped she and Jack could work it out this time, but, "Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me." She talked about going to Ireland to make a new start, but Bo had arrived, and she had returned to Salem, so that was where she would try. They hugged.

Brandon and Sami toasted each other aboard the flight to Italy. They were quite friendly, and they discussed Angela, Austin, and Brandon's anger towards Abe. Brandon grew angry at the reference to Abe, and Sami said, "See what I mean?" She talked about how her own anger toward Carrie had almost destroyed her family relationships. Brandon claimed he tried to protect his family and protect her in the same way.

Sami began to say how much she cared about Brandon, but he told her to cut out all the mixed signals she sent out. The flight attendant announced they would be landing and instructed passengers to fasten their seat belts. Brandon called Angela. He said they were landing, and he would see her soon. She started to tell him something but abruptly said she would tell him when he got there.

Victor was confirming reservations to Mexico on the phone when Kate walked in. She buttered him up with lots of compliments and talks of love. Eavesdropping, Nicole, wisecracked to herself "Love? Fear of being poor and out in the gutter is more like it." Kate bade Victor a fond farewell, and he left.

Kate immediately called Maroni and learned he had checked out. She called Italy and scolded him for leaving without saying goodbye. She proceeded to flirt with him, and she talked about the tape and how she would reward him for it. She told Maroni she would be out on the next plane. She packed her bags and yelled for Henderson to carry them down.

Angela joined Maroni as he hung up on Kate. He started to leave, saying he was going to listen to the tape. Angela stopped him, claiming she was tired of hearing about the tape all the time. Maroni said okay and said he would wait for Kate to listen to it then see what she would do to get it. Brandon called Angela, and she was about to tell him that her papa wanted to hear the tape, but Maroni walked in, so she told Brandon she would see him soon and quickly hung up.

Nicole put the moves on Victor right away, and they talked a bit. She asked him if he knew what Kate was doing then began kissing him. He wanted to know what she'd meant about Kate, and Nicole promised to tell him all later. Victor talked of Philip and how Philip would be affected by an alliance between Victor and Nicole. She assured him that she and Philip had grown close over the past few months, and it would be no problem.

Nicole and Victor kissed more, and Nicole fantasized about being Mrs. Kiriakis in the limo, with Kate as the chauffeur and Victor berating Kate as he gifted Nicole with a diamond necklace. Victor started to call to reserve a room for Nicole in Mexico, but she had already done so. She poured them brandy and toasted "to my divorce," while thinking about becoming Mrs. Kiriakis and then dumping Victor.

Lexie played with Isaac and had a flashback to her screaming fit when she had first seen the body in the canal. Loud knocking on the door revealed Hope with J.T. Hope was dying to talk about her honeymoon and called Jennifer to join them. However, Hope could not contain herself and excitedly told Lexie how romantic it had been and how wonderful Bo had been, especially ever since he had accepted J.T. as his son. Lexie questioned her about that, and Hope made excuses, but Lexie was not buying it.

The subject of the body arose, and Hope and Lexie discussed various scenarios: accident, murder, or something else. Hope said that Bo was confident that forensics would tell them what they wanted to know. Lexie began to panic, and she abruptly left and asked Hope to take care of Isaac. Outside, she said something absolutely had to be done and took off. Inside, Hope had Isaac on her lap and was playing with him, telling him how lucky his parents were to have him and how perfect he was.

While Belle greeted Marlena with a warm embrace, John quietly reminded Brady to be accepting of Marlena, since it was obvious that Belle needed her mother right then. Belle went upstairs with Chloe while John had a chat with Marlena and Brady. Marlena stated that while she'd like to apologize, she thought Brady's anger was what had made him start walking again. Brady explained that he knew she'd like him out of the house, and he asked for a moment of time alone with her.

After John left, Brady laid into Marlena again, accusing her of wanting John back so they could sleep together. He boasted that he loved his father and Belle but thought Marlena was a phony who would one day be revealed for who she really was. Upstairs, Chloe asked Belle why she couldn't see Brady for the lousy guy he was. Belle reminded her that people had badmouthed her when she'd first arrived in Salem.

Rolf and Bart slipped into the morgue and, after a near miss with an attendant, managed to find Marlo's lifeless body and try to remove it. The commissioner reported to Abe and Roman that Abe was back on duty, though the investigation was still ongoing. He then complained to Roman about his manhunt for Brady and blasted him for not revealing that Brady was the stepson of his ex-wife. Lexie was relieved when Abe and Roman decided not to hire a forensics artist to put together a drawing of the woman from the river. Bo became upset when John called to find out about J.T.'s checkup earlier in the day.

Philip arrived in time to hear Chloe and Brady arguing in front of Belle. An angry Chloe ran off, with Philip close behind. Belle blasted Brady for being rude to her friends then suggested that he was attracted to Chloe. He quickly and angrily denied it. Philip drove Chloe home but confided that he was jealous and wanted to know why she had been at Brady's place.

Marlena complained to John about Brady and stated that she could not live there. He warned that if she disowned his son, she'd be doing the same to him, as well. In Marlena's bedroom, John offered to help Marlena with her troubles if she'd only stay and face them.

Austin and Greta headed back to the castle, where they found Charles and Ingrid waiting. Given the choice of keeping him at the castle or letting him go, Greta decided to send him on his way with his pension, unwilling to trust him to work for her. Discussing the plans for her coronation, Ingrid handed Greta a guest list, and she read that Vincent Moroni and Victor would be sent invitations. Austin considered inviting Sami but then realized Greta would like him to be her date for the evening.

Sami and Brandon arrived at Angela's place and found her busy with the wedding details. She assured them that she had the tape. Kate interrupted when she visited with Angela's father. Later, Angela leaked that Kate was there to get her hands on the tape but boasted that she had switched the tape with a phony.

Meanwhile, Kate promised Moroni that if he gave her the tape, she'd help him nab Victor's property. When she showed the codicil to Victor's will, she asked him to help her arrange for Victor's "accidental" death. Sami spotted them kissing.
