Should we trade Megan for Kristen? If so, is Dimitri a fair trade for E.J. and Stefan? Who else has overstayed their welcome? Let's do a roll call in this week's Two Scoops.
I've never been more jealous that I didn't have a champagne glass than I was when the DiMeras toasted their new sisters back/again into the family. Tony, Anna, Megan, E.J., Gabi, Stefan, and Kristen raised their respective glasses in front of Stafano's portrait. Truly, what a great time to be alive.

Make no mistake, there was some bargaining there. The greatest DiMeras of the last century plus to take the stage had to make this all happen. Dimitri and Megan are spectacular. It makes me wonder why we're wasting our time with E.J 2.0, Kristen 2.0, and Stefan. Sorry, not sorry.
Despite the gender roles, I do like Megan DiMera (thankyouverymuch) being obsessed with Bo. It feels very familiar to how Stefano was obsessed with his Queen of the Night. I understand how Dimitri's father would have thought Megs was a bit too "intense." But clearly, that character trait wasn't wasted. Dimitri is a chip off the ol' DiMera block.
The glee with which Dimitri announced Megan was his mother was wonderful. And the dueling sons release of Andrew and Dimitri was a fun parallel. I would have loved to see Shane on-screen, but whatever. The reunion between Paul and Andrew (with a side of John smiling) was delightful. And now that Dimitri is headed to Salem, I'm dreaming of the day when he meets Sloan...or Gwen...or Chanel.
But whoever he meets will be playing for second place because first place goes now and always to Chad. The exchange between Dimitri and Chad on the, "What? Should I call you Uncle Chad?" and Chad's "No....nononono..." was utterly outstanding. I want more of this pair always and forever. It's a different kind of good vs. bad DiMera when the good one is the tenured one.
Before we talk about how Colin and Talia fell to their not-deaths, can we just discuss the logistics of the Horton Town Square? It's an enclosed area. The Salem Inn is part of it. Colin and Talia fell from the roof of the Salem Inn. So, this structure is apparently 1) taller than the enclosure that covers the Square or 2) has a rooftop feature which has no fresh air.
Fascinating.
Anyway, in my notes, I called this section "Sloan, Colin, and All the Nonsense" -- which is exactly what it is. We don't care about Colin and Sloan. We barely care about Talia and Jada. We do care about Paulina and Chanel, but the second Abe became a victim, he overtook them as the main sympathetic characters. Now, I'm left just wishing they'd all shut up.
Yes, Sloan, you have fault in this. Telling your psychotic brother to leave town instead of, you know, recognizing he's psychotic and telling him anything other than "cool, bro, keep feeling this way, just do it in a different place" would have helped. Oh, and drawing the line at "you don't kill people" is the lowest of all low bars. You don't get credit for that. (Take note, Eric. Rafe does not need to apologize.*)
Yes, Talia, Colin is an emotional abuser. But that doesn't mean you weren't on the hook at some point to realize this juice ain't worth the poisoning of the whole town. I cheered Chanel on every second of her rant against Talia. Two things can be true at once here -- Talia is a victim, and Talia needs to face some consequences. My membership to the Jada Fan Club proved its worth again when Jada told Talia that a lot of people go through worse than Colin Bedford and they don't try to kill people! Preach on, Rev. Hunter. Preach. On.
At the end of the day, I really loved that Rafe mentioned calling Abe's sons to get consent for surgery because it meant Rafe acknowledged Brandon.
Loose Ends
It was nice closure for Gabi to wish Li well with the next lady. The relationship with Gabi is all we know of Li's romantic side. We can definitively say he's a devoted partner! The next gal really will be lucky. (Her undead husband, should she have one, not so much...)
Shawn's not doing well in Greece. Shawn's not doing well anywhere, actually. He's blaming himself for Bo's coma, and Victor isn't helping. Knowing the late, great John Aniston won't appear on our screens as Victor again makes me very bitter that Victor is guilt-tripping Shawn because Victor won't get a chance to make this right. Victor just wouldn't turn his back on Bo's son like that. He'd be after Megan and Harris with a vengeance.
Chloe and Xander continue to be endearingly charming in their quest to hang a picture. I love the idea of her as an arts critic at the paper.
I still prefer Li and Wendy scenes to scenes with them and anyone else. Wendy needs to pick a fella and then move on. It's not enjoyable to watch her hem and haw between two dudes who think she hung the moon. Also, Li is kind of a catch. He needs to be out there!
I'm so glad Nicole turned down E.J.'s proposal. Classic tale -- you "need a little time" to figure out who the father of your baby is before you commit to one man. But the problem with telling this storyline this fast is that it's painting Nicole to be the secret-keeper here when she's 1) the victim of a crime and 2) dealing with a heavy rewrite of her character canon. I wish this storyline wasn't aiming so much for the woman with the unplanned pregnancy being the bad guy. With Sloan knowing on the Eric side and Tony knowing on the E.J. side, there seems to be an uncomfortable race to see who claims moral control over Nicole's uterus. No one but Nicole should be allowed that right.
HOT ROMAN, KATE, and MARLENA
GAH!!! I loved the scene where Marlena gave Roman and Kate giant hugs. I agree with Kate. They're all badasses.
NOT Kristen showed up at Brady's door, literally dressed like a snake, and proceeded to hiss at him about how he should succumb to her succubus spell. Oh, good. I was worried this dead horse would get up for a second. Let's get in a few more whacks!
LINE OF THE WEEK:
Nicole (to E.J.) "You're lucky I didn't knee you in the DiMera family jewels."
RANDOM THOUGHTS
*I never thought I'd get to the day where I side with Rafe over Eric, but here we are. Good lookin' out, universe.
Jada's high-waisted pants were super cute.
Dr. Hubbard is in town to pick up slack for Tripp being out.
Nicole's black and white dress was really pretty.
Roman made the phrase "Peacock and chill" sound adorkable.
Wendy actually wore an outfit that didn't look like a toddler!!
I don't mean to make light of their trauma, but Chloe's orphanage cleaning days and Xander's gardener time make these two the perfect housemates for anyone.
I want Kate's whole outfit. I could probably leave this line in every column.
Eric Martsolf looks good in purple!
John showed up at Paul's apartment. He didn't tell Paul he was coming. This is strange. Why are these parents (Steve and Kayla did it to their kids, too!) not calling first??
