The entertainment fell through for the fundraiser, and Cat called in a favor to secure a band. Chad interrupted Cat during a baseball game, and he watched a little with her. Cat accidentally got mustard on Chad.

Gabi apologized to Javi about her overreaction to Leo moving in. Leo appealed to Melinda to cut Doug a break and keep his name from the police. JJ questioned Melinda about Alice’s necklace, but Melinda refused to admit that it was stolen.

When Doug interrupted Holly’s date with Tate, Tate called Julie and told her that Doug was the thief. Doug decided to come clean, but before he could confess, Julie confronted him about the theft. Doug admitted he had stolen the necklace. Furious, Julie threw Doug out of the house. Holly told Tate about Doug’s plan to confess. A guilty Tate started to admit what he had done, but he chickened out.

After Julie told Maggie about what had happened with Doug, Maggie told Holly that Tate had been the one to tell Julie about Doug’s betrayal. Holly confronted Tate, and he argued he had done it to protect Holly. Holly dumped Tate, but she also seemed to walk it back.

Doug attempted to apply for a job at the Bistro, and he talked to Sophia. Sophia suggested that Doug had a clean shot at Holly after Tate had ratted Doug out. Doug said he understood why Tate had called Julie. Doug and Sophia agreed that they both wanted whatever would make Holly and Tate happy.

JJ questioned Tate about how he had known about Doug’s theft. Tate told JJ that Doug had confessed, but he refused to confirm if Holly had known about it. When JJ asked Melinda for the necklace, she claimed she had sold it. Melinda refused to name the buyer.

EJ informed Ava that Rachel Blake would no longer be a problem. Though Ava was relieved to be safe from any more attacks, she was resigned to ending her relationship with Brady. Brady refused to let Kristen dictate how he lead his life, but Ava argued that their relationship was doomed. Ava told Brady that she needed to protect her heart, and she broke up with him.

A desperate Kristen offered EJ the CEO job at DiMera Enterprises in exchange for the return of her mother, but EJ refused. Kristen vowed to get revenge on EJ. Leo’s story in the paper about EJ and Kristen caused havoc with clients and by vendors at DiMera Enterprises. Philip sent a copy of the article to Mr Shin to convince him to move ahead with the takeover. Melinda scrambled to get Gabi and all the other department heads into line for PR purposes.

EJ pleaded with Johnny to forgive him, but Johnny refused. Johnny told EJ that he never wanted to see him again. Amy Choi gave Chanel her blessing for the adoption, but she retracted it when she saw an unflattering news story about EJ. Chanel and Johnny were devastated to lose the baby because of EJ.

Alex overheard Xander prompting Philip to come clean about his affair with Stephanie. Alex attempted to strangle Philip before he stormed out of the mansion. Sarah asked Stephanie to keep up the lie, but Stephanie was hesitant to risk her relationship with Alex. When Alex confronted Stephanie, she told him the truth about Philip’s forged letter. Alex was adamant about telling Xander the truth, but Stephanie convinced him not to expose the lie. Alex lied to Xander and confirmed that although Stephanie had slept with Philip, they had talked it through.

Steve and Marlena started their search for John in Estonia. Paul and Andrew joined Marlena and Steve to help search for John. Andrew informed the group that John had tracked down a nuclear weapon, but he had disappeared at the suspected site. While Marlena stayed behind at the hotel, Steve, Paul, and Andrew took out the goons at the warehouse, and then searched for John. In an office, Steve found a lead. At the hotel, Orpheus stepped out of the shadows and confronted Marlena in her hotel room.
