At Cat and Felicity’s house, Cat called for Felicity from the bathroom and asked her sister to answer the door. Felicity had headphones on and couldn’t hear, so a towel-clad Cat raced over to the door. She was embarrassed to find Chad waiting there. “Is it a bad time?” he asked. She began rambling about how she was running late, quickly excused herself, and hurried back into the bathroom to get dressed.

Chad approached Felicity and asked if he had embarrassed her sister “too bad.” Felicity didn’t believe Cat was embarrassed because she’d answered the door in a towel. “She likes you,” the teen bluntly stated. As Chad joined Felicity on the sofa, the girl added, “But she told me you can’t like her back.” Chad explained that while he’d been angry with Cat, he had a better understanding of her actions.

Cat and Chad were on good terms, Chad continued. “So you can be together now?” Felicity hopefully asked. Before Chad could respond, Cat reentered the room. When Cat asked what she had missed, Chad smiled and told her about Felicity’s revelation. Cat scolded Felicity and reminded her sister that she’d gotten over her “silly crush” on Chad.

“You could be such a good couple,” Felicity countered. Chad said he appreciated Felicity’s directness, but Cat promptly suggested Felicity finish her homework in her room. After Felicity offered help with the fundraiser meeting, Cat cracked “You’ve helped enough” and ushered Felicity into the bedroom. She turned back to Chad with an embarrassed smile.

Cat redirected the subject to the fundraiser and informed Chad she’d already ordered carnival supplies, including the dunk tank. She joked about “endowing the hospital for years to come” if EJ and Leo signed up to be dunked. After Cat mentioned the bachelor and bachelorette auction, she made the case for auctioning off a date with Chad. He eventually and begrudgingly accepted the idea, on one condition: Cat would become a bachelorette.

Cat shot down the idea and snarked that “the imposter who duped half of Salem” would be lucky to bring in a one-dollar bid. Chad argued that Cat was “smart and beautiful” and that it would be for a good cause. Cat expressed mock outrage at Chad using her own arguments against her, then said “add me to the list” with an exaggerated sigh. Chad grinned and gave a victorious fist pump.

Cat proposed clowns for the carnival, and Chad reacted with horror. The duo bantered about her love of clowns and his fear of them. Felicity came back into the room while Cat and Chad were teasing each other. Cat apologized for disturbing her studies. Felicity mused, “You’re so happy together; you should be boyfriend and girlfriend.” She strode back into her room, leaving Chad and Cat with food for thought.

In Leo’s room, Leo complained to Javi about the life of a “respectable” journalist, where sourcing material was mandatory. After engaging in some light flirtation, Javi declared he had information Leo could add to the paper’s latest story. Leo was intrigued by the claim. According to Javi, Gabi had revealed that even though EJ was responsible for Rafe’s kidnapping, the DiMera would likely get away with it. Javi filled Leo in on the circumstantial evidence against EJ.

Javi wanted Leo to run the story so Belle would be pressured to prosecute EJ. Plus, Rafe would be willing to go on the record, Javi affirmed. Later, Javi ended a phone interview with Rafe. Leo was pleased because Rafe’s story would make the article more “scintillating.” He joked about hiring security in the event that the DiMeras or “creepy Dr. Rolf” came after him.

Javi promised he would protect Leo; he took off his shirt to flex his biceps as proof. “How about you go a few rounds with me first?” Leo asked suggestively. Before things could proceed, Leo heard a knock at the door. Javi said he was “half-kidding” about taking on EJ, but Leo assured him it was room service.

As he pushed in the cart, Leo raved about the chicken they would soon be enjoying. But when he lifted the top of the tray, a long tab from the hotel greeted him instead. Javi’s eyes grew wide at the hefty bill Leo had built up at the hotel. He asked if Leo could pay it. “If I drain my entire life savings,” Leo admitted.

Javi advised Leo to move out of the hotel…and in with him. Leo was caught off-guard at Javi’s idea to “cohabitate” and suggested it might be too soon in their relationship. Javi believed they’d known each other long enough. Besides, Leo didn’t have many options. Leo brought up Gabi’s hatred for him.

Javi thought Gabi and Rafe wouldn’t be an issue, especially if Javi played the family card. He asked if Leo would accept the invitation. Leo thought it over, then accepted, with the caveat that Javi and he consider it a “test run” for actually moving in together down the line. Leo didn’t want to mess up the good thing he had with Javi. Javi was happy with Leo’s decision, and the couple moved their celebration to the bed.

At the hospital, Maggie and Sarah chatted about the hospital’s budget cuts, which had already claimed the coffee and bagels. Maggie was glad that Alex had returned to work at Titan. “If it doesn’t end in disaster,” Sarah quipped. When Maggie asked what she meant, Sarah recalled her agreement with Stephanie to keep quiet about Philip’s deception. She lied to her mother that she was only worried about Alex’s prior role as CEO.

Maggie didn’t believe Alex or Xander had any animosity about that time. They both realized that Theresa was to blame. Maggie then laid into Theresa for forging a letter and upending lives. When Sarah seemed to defend Theresa’s belief that the secret about the letter wouldn’t come out, Maggie deemed Theresa an idiot. “A secret like that always comes out,” Maggie affirmed to a guilty Sarah.

Before Maggie departed, she offered to fix the coffee and bagels situation. Sarah was grateful and hugged her mom goodbye.

At the Kiriakis mansion, Xander raised a toast to Alex’s return to Titan. Alex mused about the high price tag of their drinks and wondered if the celebration had more to do with Xander’s mysterious “big plans” for Titan. Philip and Xander confirmed Alex’s suspicions by announcing their intention to take over DiMera Enterprises. Alex was taken aback and challenged his cousins on how they intended to execute the takeover without the support of any DiMeras.

Xander delivered another surprise when he revealed Titan had the support of Wei Shin. The brothers had convinced the influential shareholder that Kristen and EJ were too busy trying to stay out of legal trouble to operate in the best interests of the company. Alex glanced at the portrait of Victor and declared that the patriarch would “approve.” And who was Alex to argue with “the best there ever was?” He clinked his drink with his cousins' glasses as a seal of approval.

Philip apologized to Alex for the “friction” between them over Stephanie. Alex smiled and promised his cousin their problems were in the past, “as long as you don’t try to win her back.” As Philip thought back to Stephanie lambasting him, he assured Alex that Stephanie and he were over for good. Alex expressed reservations about trusting Wei Shin, until Xander reiterated that Philip and he had used Li’s death to solidify their pitch to Li's father.

Alex marveled at how well Philp and Xander were working together since not that long ago they had “been at each other’s throats.” Philip got tense and prematurely ended the meeting. After Alex left, Xander confronted his brother about Philip’s seeming attitude toward Alex. Philip claimed he trusted Alex, but he was concerned about what Stephanie might say to Alex about him.

Xander didn’t think Stephanie was the type to hold a grudge. “If our plans blow up in our faces, it won’t be because of Stephanie,” Xander reasoned. Xander got a message from Wei informing him that Wei would be presenting Titan’s proposal to the DiMera board. Philip and Xander gleefully reflected on the progress of their plans. Just then, Maggie returned home and took note of the brothers’ good moods.

Maggie expressed how proud she was of Xander and Philip. She was certain Victor would share her pride. Philip’s mood visibly soured after the remark. Later, Sarah arrived back at the mansion and shared hugs with Xander and Maggie. When her mom and husband left the room, Sarah had an awkward exchange with Philip. He told her the hospital was lucky to have her, and she asked how working with Alex had gone.

Philip relayed his concern that Stephanie would say something to Alex about the letter. Sarah believed Stephanie would keep quiet since she and Alex were finally in a good place.

At the Brady Pub, Stephanie anxiously greeted Joy when the latter walked inside. Stephanie asked about Joy and Alex’s first day of work. Joy’s day was already done since it had mostly been spent “onboarding.” Alex, though, had gone to the mansion with Philip and Xander for a “top-secret meeting.” Joy said she didn’t know the details since she was just an assistant.

Stephanie wondered if it was awkward working with Alex again. Joy blurted that at least she wasn’t “jumping into bed and pretending to make out” with him at her current job, then quickly apologized for the “word vomit.” She didn’t want things to be awkward between Stephanie and her, as she was genuinely happy for Stephanie and Alex. Stephanie didn’t think Alex and Joy were completely in the past, especially since Joy might be pregnant.

A shocked Joy sank into the chair opposite Stephanie. Ms. Johnson explained that she had overheard Sarah talking with a lab tech at the hospital and claimed she was just “in the wrong place at the wrong time.” Joy felt the chain of events meshed with her recent bad luck. She asked if Stephanie had told Alex, but Stephanie assured Joy she would not violate Joy’s privacy. She did request, however, that Joy inform her of the pregnancy test results.

Stephanie apologized and said it was none of her business, and Joy readily concurred. Joy admitted she hadn’t gotten the results back yet. Stephanie then hesitantly broached the subject of the potential baby’s paternity. “Sorry to dash your hopes,” Joy bit back and admitted that Alex was the only possible father. Joy needed to get answers, so she picked up her phone to call Sarah.

During the call, Sarah told Joy that the test results had come in. Joy made plans to retrieve the results at the hospital. After the call, she promised Stephanie that she would stop by and talk with Alex, regardless of the results. She asked if Stephanie could “bring Alex up to speed,” and Stephanie reluctantly agreed.

Joy made her way to the hospital and caught Sarah before the doctor left. Sarah had Joy's pregnancy test results in hand. Sarah hadn’t gotten an opportunity to look at them yet but invited Joy into her office to go over the results. An emergency call compelled Sarah’s attention.

Sarah honored Joy’s request to hand over the results so Joy could look at them privately. Sarah told Joy she would be on hand if Joy needed anything. Joy took a deep breath and opened the results.

Later, Stephanie greeted Alex at her apartment. He excitedly told her about his first day at Titan and wanted to take her out to celebrate. She needed to talk to him about something important first. When Alex worriedly said Stephanie was scaring him, she stunned him with the news that Joy might be pregnant with his baby. Alex reeled and struggled to process the ramifications of potentially becoming a father.

Stephanie explained that she hadn’t believed it was her place to tell Alex until Joy had requested she do so. Alex didn’t blame Stephanie for any of it. He realized the news affected her, too. He vowed that no matter what the outcome, he wouldn’t let anything or anyone come between him and Stephanie. As Alex affirmed how much Stephanie meant to him, Joy arrived. Stephanie told her Alex knew everything.

With trepidation, Alex asked Joy what the results had revealed. After a beat, Joy exclaimed, “False alarm!” Alex reacted with overwhelming relief, and then apologized for his insensitivity. Stephanie and he invited Joy to join them for dinner to talk things over. Joy wanted a “clean break” and quickly made her exit.

As Alex and Stephanie shared a hug, outside the door, Joy pulled out her results and read them again. They revealed a positive test, indicating Joy was indeed pregnant.
