Days of our Lives comings and goings: Lamon Archey and Sal Stowers return as Eli and Lani Grant

Eli and Lani make their way back to Salem and Days of our Lives, as Eli and Lani return for various family crises.

After months of Paulina Price talking about her oldest daughter Lani being released from prison, it looks like it finally happens as Sal Stowers and Lamon Archey reprise their roles as Lani Price Grant and Eli Grant.

It's been a tumultuous few weeks for Eli and Lani's families, as Eli's grandmother Julie has dealt with the Horton house burning down and Lani's mom Paulina has prepared for and had surgery after a thyroid cancer diagnosis. Lani may have missed her sister Chanel's impromptu wedding to Johnny DiMera in Paulina's hospital room, but she finally makes her way back to Salem to be with her ailing mother.

The last we saw of Lani, she was released on a prison furlough last year after her dad Abe was presumed dead. She was sentenced to time behind bars two years ago after shooting her abusive biological dad. Eli also left town with the couple's twins to be closer to his wife.

Now, Eli and Lani are headed home to Salem, and Archey couldn't be happier.

"It had been a long time since I had had any scenes with her, so it was definitely good to come back and work with Sal again," Archey told Soap Opera Digest. "I was definitely looking forward to catching up with Jim [Reynolds, Abe] and always Susan [Seaforth Hayes, Julie]. Anytime I go there, I always go to her room and see if she's in there, whether I have a scene with her or not. I always try to touch base with her."

Stowers first appeared on the Salem scene in 2015 as Abe Carver's long-lost daughter, who years later turned out not to be his biological child, but he adopted her to reassure her that nothing had changed between them. Archey started playing Eli Grant, son of Julie's son David and Valerie Grant, two years later in 2017. They will make their DAYS comebacks on February 26, but there's no word on how long the actors will stick around this time.
