Days of our Lives casts All My Children alum William Christian as Lani's dad

All My Children star William Christian (ex-Derek Frye) has joined Days of our Lives as Ray, Lani's (Sal Stowers) father and Paulina's (Jackée Harry) allegedly evil ex.

Here comes trouble! The super cruel ex from Paulina's (Jacke Harry) past is finally coming to Days of our Lives, with Soap Opera Digest reporting that All My Children alum William Christian (ex-Derek Frye) has joined the NBC soap opera as Lani's (Sal Stowers) father, Ray.

Paulina has mentioned her troublesome former flame many times since moving to Salem, describing him as abusive and controlling and the reason she's so self-sufficient (having declared that she'd never allow a man to have such power over her ever again).

Paulina also ultimately revealed -- though not by choice! -- that Ray was Lani's father. As fans likely recall, Paulina had been parading as Lani's aunt, but during the character's wedding to Abe (James Reynolds), MarDevil forced Chanel (Raven Bowens) to reveal that not only was Ray actually Lani's father, but also that Paulina was really Lani's mother!

So far, Lani hasn't seemed overly keen to find her biological father, but they'll be meeting sooner or later -- whether she likes it or not! SOD reports Christian will be making his debut as Ray on Wednesday, January 26.

The Washington D.C. native is best known for his role as police chief Derek Frye on All My Children, which he played from 1990 to 2005. He also appeared on Another World as Dr. Marshall Redd in 1990, as well as -- funny enough -- on DAYS as an ISA agent involved with John (Drake Hogestyn) drugging Steve (Stephen Nichols) back in 2018.
