Days of our Lives' Vanessa Williams to recur on The L Word: Generation Q

The Showtime series The L Word: Generation Q has cast Vanessa Williams (ex-Valerie Grant, Days of our Lives) as artist Pippa Pascal, a recurring character in season two.

Vanessa Williams' appearances in Salem are few and far between these days, but fans who love seeing her on-screen as as Days of our Lives' Valerie Grant can look forward to seeing her in the second season of Showtime's The L Word: Generation Q.

A spinoff of the network's popular The L Word, which ran from 2004 to 2009, the new iteration centers on a group of diverse LGBTQ+ characters -- including original characters Bette Porter (Jennifer Beals), Shane McCutcheon (Katherine Moennig), and Alice Pieszecki (Leisha Hailey) -- experiencing love, heartbreak, sex, setbacks, personal growth, and success in Los Angeles.

Williams has been cast in the recurring role of Pippa Pascal, an incendiary artist who's been out of the public eye for almost 20 years but is cast back in it when Bette becomes determined to track her down.

Showtime has yet to announce a premiere date for the second season of The L Word: Generation Q, but it is expected to air later this year and will include guest stars such as Rosie O'Donnell, Donald Faison, and Griffin Dunne.

As Soap Central previously reported, Williams can also be seen in the upcoming Jordan Peele follow-up to the horror classic Candyman, in which she will reprise her role from the original 1992 film. Her other credits include Melrose Place, The Flash, Soul Food, 40 and Single, and The Bay.
