Supercouple story in store for DAYS' Ben and Ciara

Get ready for some serious romance this February: Days of our Lives' head writer, Ron Carlivati, says he has a storyline that's always reserved for supercouples in store for soon-to-be-reunited lovers Ben (Robert Scott Wilson) and Ciara (Victoria Konefal).

It may be winter, but Days of our Lives viewers might need to blast their air conditioners and cool off after hearing details of the super hot storyline that the NBC soap opera has planned for fan-favorite couple Ben (Robert Scott Wilson) and Ciara (Victoria Konefal).

At the moment, Ciara is being held hostage and is far, far away from the loving embrace of her husband. But DAYS' head writer says that's all going to change as February Sweeps gets underway. The only thing is that the reunion storyline is going to be a sloooow burn that will eventually lead to a scorcher.

"It's not like Ciara is going to be rescued tomorrow; we're beginning a journey," the writer previews to She Knows. "It started with Ben finally voicing what he's been feeling deep down for a while now, that maybe his wife isn't really dead. From this point forward, we see him taking action to try and figure out where she could be. But the trail is very, very cold at this point."

The trick, Carlivati says, is keeping the audience invested while Ben searches for the truth about his long-lost wife. To make sure that the story is interesting all the way through, he teases that he's employed a soap opera staple that DAYS fans have seen with previous Salem supercouples.

"We've forged sort of a psychic connection between them, similar to something that's been played in the past with John [Drake Hogestyn] and Marlena [Deidre Hall] and some of our other supercouples," Carlivati shares. "There will be a fantasy element to it, as well. We wanted to give the audience romantic payoffs on the way to the ultimate payoff."

But a long-awaited Cin reunion isn't the only exciting thing that the DAYS writing team has in store for the show's viewers. Carlivati says to expect fireworks when Alison Sweeney returns as Sami, the truth about Gwen (Emily O'Brien) is finally exposed, and there is a possible wedding between Sarah (Linsey Godfrey) and Xander (Paul Telfer).
