Hallmark is bringing fans double the soapy fun by featuring Days of our Lives' Kristian Alfonso (ex-Hope Brady) alongside Alison Sweeney (Sami Brady) in the next installment of its Chronicle Mysteries film series.
Fans who are already missing Kristian Alfonso as Days of our Lives' Hope Brady are in luck because the actress has already announced her next project -- and it has a super fun Salem twist! She will be joining DAYS star Alison Sweeney (Sami Brady) in the next installment of the Hallmark Movies & Mysteries film series Chronicle Mysteries.
Sweeney shared a photo from the set of the franchise's upcoming film, writing, "So excited that @kristianalfonso is able to join us for a @chroniclemysteries movie!!! Welcome to the @hallmarkmovie family!!! #behindthescenes #friends #grateful."
Alfonso also shared a social media post about the film and teased that she will be playing a sheriff, writing, "#sheriff #williams here #@chroniclemysteries #@hallmarkmovie #kindness"

Sweeney also shared a behind-the-scenes video of the making of the Chronicle Mysteries movie that shows the cast and crew hard at work on filming in Vancouver, despite the super rainy weather. "Rainy days in Vancouver on @chroniclemysteries - But we don't let it slow us down!!!" she teased of the project -- which, unfortunately, remains mostly a mystery itself at this time, as neither actress has announced its title or premise.
Alison Sweeney took on the role of DAYS' Sami in 1993 and played the role until 2014, after which she returned for a few brief stints. Earlier this year, it was announced that the actress had reached a deal with the soap to return to her iconic role for a longer stint. In addition to DAYS, Sweeney is known for her long-standing relationship with Hallmark, where she is the star of its Chronicle Mysteries film series and its Murder, She Baked film series.
Alfonso began playing Hope Williams Brady in 1983 and, outside of two brief breaks in the late 80s and early 90s, remained with the NBC soap opera until earlier this month. The actress announced her decision to end her 37-year DAYS run in July after executive producer Ken Corday told her that her character would be off camera for four to five months.
"It was not something that had ever been discussed, but that's what it was, and to come back in five to six months, or four to five months -- whatever that timeframe was -- I just thought, you know what, it's time to really write a new chapter," Alfonso explained of her decision to leave DAYS. "I've had an incredible run there. I've had so many amazing friends and memories. I cannot say enough how I'll miss so many people working there and working with them, but they are in my life, and we do socialize, but like I said, I think it's time."
