Days of our Lives has recast the role of Melinda Trask. Soap alum Tina Huang (ex-Dr. Campbell, The Bold and the Beautiful; ex-Linda Chu, General Hospital) has taken over the character previously played by Laura Kai Chen.
Starting Wednesday, September 23, Days of our Lives character Melinda Trask will have a fresh face. Actress Tina Huang (ex-Dr. Campbell, The Bold and the Beautiful; ex-Linda Chu, General Hospital) will be stepping into the shoes of the district attorney.

According to Soap Opera Digest, previous portrayer Laura Kai Chen -- who originated the role of Melinda in 2013 -- wasn't available to come in and film when the show needed her, so Huang was called in. Funny enough, some DAYS fans might already recognize the actress; she previously played the role of Josie Jordan back in 2008.

As for what brings D.A. Trask into the fold, she will be factoring into the current storyline revolving around the death of the character's daughter, Haley (Thia Megia).
In addition to her soap roles, Huang's credits include Grey's Anatomy, Arrow, Rizzoli & Isles, and Hollywood Heights.
