DAYS' Judi Evans lands gritty film about the horrors of human trafficking

Days of our Lives' Judi Evans (Adrienne Kiriakis) plays an "unredeemable character" in I'm not for Sale, a terrifying film that delves into the sickening realities of human trafficking.

On Days of our Lives, actress Judi Evans (Adrienne Kiriakis) has portrayed a roller coaster of dark and emotional moments that some fans don't know, and others perhaps have forgotten about. When she first debuted on the show back in 1987, Adrienne was an abused runaway trying to escape further torture by her own father, Duke, who ultimately tracked her down and raped her. As dark as that may have been, Evans' newest role has pushed her even further as an actress.

The California native took to Twitter to announce that she just started work on a new film titled I'm not for Sale: The fight to end Human Trafficking, a grim tale that portrays the horrendous world of human trafficking.

"Started work yesterday on a new film called 'I'm not for sale.' It's a gritty film about the horrors of human trafficking," she wrote. "Directed by Romane Simon....Thank you Simon for daring to tell this story and allowing me the opportunity to go WAY outside my comfort zone to play a virtually unredeemable character."

A huge bonus for the actress is that her son, Austin Michael Luciano, has also been cast in the film, which has made her beyond proud.

"Can't wait to see him work his magic!" she writes of her 22-year-old son, who has appeared as an extra on DAYS and recurred as Another World's Dante Carlino.

Simon is a Haitian director with an extensive list of credits to his name, including Extending the Cut, Clique, The Dream-Naperz, Nightmares, Blood Runs Thick, and The Dawn of Zombie Apocalypse -- the latter of which Evans also starred in.

Before joining DAYS in 1987, Evans began her daytime career as Guiding Light's Beth Raines, which she played from 1983 to 1986. She also took on the role of Another World's Paulina Carlino, which she played from 1991 to 1999, and As the World Turns' Maeve Stone, which she played for a short time in 2009.
