A new teaser video hints that Martha Madison (Belle Black) isn't quite as done with Days of our Lives as fans might have thought.
The fate of Martha Madison and her Days of our Lives character, Belle Black, has been quite a roller coaster for fans of the NBC soap the past year. Many were joyful when it was announced that the actress would be returning for the show's 50th anniversary last fall, and they were even more ecstatic when it became clear she'd be sticking around permanently. And then suddenly, the powers that be ripped the rug out from under everyone earlier this spring when the decision was made to write Madison's Belle out from story once again. Her final airdate was supposed to be this September, but a new video shows that the actress and her beloved alter ego might not be leaving Salem for good after all.
Kristian Alfonso (Hope Brady) took to Instagram this Monday with a teaser video urging fans to tune back in to DAYS once the show's current two-week hiatus for the Olympics ends on Monday, August 22. And much to fans' surprise, Madison appears in the video -- meaning she was on set at the soap opera this week.

It's unclear if the actress was just paying her former costars a friendly visit or if she is indeed back on set, filming scenes that, due to the show's production schedule, will air in 2017.
As fans may recall, both Madison and her on-screen love, Brandon Beemer (Shawn Brady), were dismissed together last March. Their alter egos were supposedly going to leave town together -- until executives at the show realized that, due to contact issues, Beemer was going to get paid whether or not he was written into the show. Storylines were changed, and Beemer's Shawn remains a part of Salem shenanigans, at least until his contract is over. Could the writers have realized they made a terrible mistake and decided to keep Madison's Belle around for the foreseeable future, as well? Or was she perhaps just brought on for a few episodes to help propel Shawn's storyline in a new direction as his contract winds down?
A DAYS rep wasn't immediately available for comment, so it looks like fans will just have to wait and see what the future holds.
How would you feel if Madison is truly back filming at DAYS? Would you like to see the powers that be bring her back full time? Or were you happy the character was leaving Salem?
