Vincent Irizarry reveals airdate for his DAYS debut

It looks like 2016 will get off to a great start for Vincent Irizarry fans, as it seems the actor will be making his Salem debut soon after we ring in the New Year.

Vincent Irizarry fans have been waiting patiently to see the actor back on daytime, and the long wait will soon be over: He has revealed the date of his Salem debut as Deimos.

Irizarry took to Twitter to answer fans' questions and was asked when he'll be debuting on General Hospital. The gracious actor corrected the tweet, answering that he'll be debuting on NBC's DAYS on Monday, January 18.

Head writer Dena Higley shared on Facebook that Irizarry's new alter ego will be the younger brother of an existing character and heads to town seeking revenge. It's also known that Irizarry's character will have strong ties to the Kiriakis family.

The Emmy-winning actor is no stranger to soap operas. He's played All My Children's David Hayward, Guiding Light's Lujack/Brandon Luvonaczek, The Young and the Restless' David Chow, and Santa Barbara's Dr. Scott Clark.

"Thank you so much, all of you, for your tireless support of me and my work throughout all these years together," Irizarry wrote to fans earlier this summer. "I'm truly, truly touched by the overwhelming expressions of kind thoughts and well wishes by so many of you throughout all the social media outlets. As it has been throughout so many times in my life working on shows such as this, because of you all, my cup truly runneth over... Can't wait to see you all in Salem!"
