Camila Banus confirms DAYS exit later this year

Another member of Days of our Lives' younger demographic is exiting the show. Camila Banus has confirmed that she will exit the show by the end of the year. Banus, who previously appeared on One Life to Live, joined DAYS in 2010.

It's been several months since rumblings of Camila Banus' (Gabi Hernandez) exit from Days of our Lives surfaced. Now, in a new interview, Banus has confirmed that she is exiting the soap she's called home for the past three years.

"I will be leaving in December," Banus told Soap Opera Uncensored. "It's time to pursue new projects, characters and opportunities."

Banus joined Days of our Lives in October 2010, assuming the role of Gabriella from actress Gabriella Rodriguez. Prior to joining DAYS, Banus had a short-term run as Lola Montez on One Life to Live from 2008 to May 2009.

"I was very blessed. I work with amazing actors, especially the amazing young actors on DAYS," Banus added. "You don't see that often on soap operas. I also feel very privileged to work with incredible talent behind the scenes. The crew and directors have given me amazing feedback and directed me when I needed them."

A Days of our Lives spokesperson did not respond to a request for a statement.
