Taylor to exit DAYS, but Roman's future uncertain

THE SALEM SERIAL KILLER
DAYS executive producer Ken Corday has said that in order for the serial killer storyline to have real impact, some of the show's most-loved characters had to fall victim to the serial killer. Here's Soap Central news coverage of the actors cut by the storyline.

James Reynolds (Abe)
Matt Ashford (Jack)
Alexis Thorpe (Cassie)
Thaao Penghlis (Tony)
Josh Taylor (Roman)

The latest victim of Days of our Lives' cost-cutting measures is Josh Taylor (Roman Brady). Taylor will tape his final scenes next month.

Taylor's exit has been hinted about by setside sources for several weeks, however, there is no word on whether or not Taylor's character will fall victim to the show's serial killer - or if the character will simply be written off of the show's canvas.

Taylor has the unique distinctive of having been in two different long-term roles on the same show. From 1976 to 1987, Taylor portrayed Chris Kositchek. In 1997, exactly one decade later, the actor returned to the fictional town of Salem to tackle the role of the real Roman Brady

A spokesperson for Days of our Lives would not discuss the contract status of Taylor nor the talk of his impending exit. Likewise, Taylor's publicist also had no comment. A message posted on Taylor's official website discussing his exit was quickly removed last month.
