At Carter’s loft, Hope and Carter continued to discuss Hope’s firing. Carter maintained that Steffy was making bad business decisions and was determined to ensure she didn’t get away with dismissing Hope. “It’s going to haunt her if she doesn’t fix this,” Carter said. Hope lamented that the line was her identity and her passion, and just like that, Steffy was able to strip her of both.

Hope explained to Carter that Steffy wanted her out long before Finn came along. “My mother committed the greatest sin of all: loving Ridge Forrester. Now Steffy is getting her payback,” Hope said. Hope felt like she had given a lot to the company over the years.

Carter encouraged Hope not to give up and to fight for what was hers. He told her how smart and strong she was and what he had seen her accomplish. Hope felt that, with Carter’s support, she might have it in her to fight to get her job back. Carter told Hope he wasn’t like the other men in her life, and she could count on him. “You don’t have to fight alone anymore,” Carter added. Hope told Carter he was the man of her dreams.

Carter insisted that he would never hurt Hope. He told her how beautiful she was and then said he loved her. Hope’s eyes lit up, and she wondered how he had been standing in front of her all this time, as she hadn’t seen him. “But I do now, and I love you, too,” Hope told Carter. They began to kiss and then made love on the couch.

At the cliff house, Steffy told Finn that she couldn’t get the image of Hope in lingerie on top of him out of her head. She told him that after he left, she fired Hope. Steffy said she should have fired her when she first discovered Hope kissed Finn.

Finn made a bad joke about being able to handle Hope’s attention, but then they agreed that she was out of their lives — and Forrester — for good. Finn assured Steffy he loved her and that she could feel his words in his heart. They began to kiss and then made love on the couch.

Ridge told Brooke she seemed stunned. He reminded her that Hope had been asked to respect Steffy’s family and she couldn’t. He asked what Brooke expected Steffy to do. “I wouldn’t expect her to give Hope the benefit of the doubt, but you should have. You’re wrong about Hope, Ridge. You’re wrong,” Brooke said.

Brooke told Ridge that Steffy had no reason to cut Hope for the Future and how their son RJ had asked her to reconsider, but to no avail. Brooke was sure that Steffy wanted Hope to fail. Brooke insisted that Hope did not try to seduce Finn. “You’re co-CEO, and you could stop this, but you won’t because it’s your daughter. What if she wants to fire Katie for insubordination?” Brooke wondered. She added that Steffy could fire her as well. “You need to choose me and support me!” Brooke snapped.

Ridge said he supported Brooke and pointed out how he brought her back to the company and ensured her line would succeed. Brooke told him not to act like he did her a favor. Ridge said that was not what he meant and told Brooke she deserved a seat at the table. “So does my daughter! She is the next generation, and those seats are not just reserved for your children,” Brooke barked.

Ridge clapped back about Hope’s behavior. He pointed out that she had toyed with Thomas’ heart to the point that he took Douglas and left the country. “I saw those boys every day!” Ridge snapped. He told Brooke that this all comes down to the fact that Hope didn’t know the difference between what was appropriate and what wasn’t.

Brooke pointed the finger back at Steffy and said that Steffy didn’t even try to disguise how she felt about the Logans. Ridge said it was not a Logan vs. Forrester issue. “Your daughter is making bad choices, and there are consequences,” Ridge said.

Brooke cried that Ridge believed Steffy because she was in line to take over his legacy. Ridge said that Steffy had worked hard and earned her position. Brooke said Hope should have her legacy, too, and didn’t see the difference between Steffy and Hope. Ridge adamantly said that Hope and Steffy were not equals. “Not even close,” he added. Brooke tearfully told Ridge that he should have given Hope and Brooke the benefit of the doubt, and he should have just believed what she said at face value. “You need to listen and honor me, and you don’t. And that breaks my heart,” Brooke told Ridge.
