At the loft, Carter and Hope recapped their previous night of passion. Carter assured Hope that he would always be there for her in the good times and the bad.

Hope sat on Carter’s lap and said she didn’t want to leave. Carter wanted to talk to Ridge and thought that as his best friend and company COO, he could get Ridge to reinstate Hope and her line. Before he left, Carter encouraged Hope to keep fighting for herself and her line.

At Brooke’s, Zende set down his sketch pad and sadly noted that Hope wouldn’t need it anymore. Katie and Brooke told Zende they were all in a state of shock. Zende said they all knew HFTF had been struggling, but the momentum seemed to have picked up in the past couple of weeks, and it didn’t make sense to pull the plug now. “It wasn’t a business decision. It was a personal attack by Steffy on Hope,” Brooke told him.

Brooke and Zende thought the industry would “freak” when they heard the news. Brooke said it was more than the Logan vs. Forrester war and that Steffy fired Hope for something she didn’t do.

Zende understood Steffy’s perspective after he heard what she had walked in on. Regardless, he was upset that he lost his role as HFTF’s lead designer. Zende asked what Ridge and Eric thought of the situation.

Brooke wasn’t sure how much Eric knew but didn’t think it would matter if Steffy had already talked to him. “I love my cousin, but when it comes to her personal feelings about Hope, she has to put that stuff aside and not make decisions that could negatively affect the company,” Zende said emotionally.

Zende talked about what an inspiration Hope was to the masses and how her fans would react when they heard she was unceremoniously booted from Forrester. Hope entered through the front door in time to overhear. “There will be backlash,” she agreed.

Hope complimented Zende on all of his efforts on the line and encouraged him that it would get better. “All hope might not be lost after all,” Hope hinted. She told Katie, Brooke, and Zende that Carter had gone to see Ridge and hoped to get him to stop Steffy from firing her.

In the design office, Will was working with his earphones in and didn’t hear Lainey and Toni come in. They watched him work and commented about how he didn’t know how hot he was. Electra came in and Will introduced all the girls. He noted that Forrester was revving back up the jewelry line and said Electra was spearheading it. Electra humbly added it was really Ivy doing it, and she was just there to help. “Yeah, well, we all have to start somewhere, don’t we,” Lainey said with a little snark before exchanging glances with Toni. Will and Electra just smiled broadly at one another.

Lainey and Toni hung out looking at dresses and noticed Electra and Will staring at each other. They decided to make nice with her and came closer. “I’m sorry we didn’t know who you were earlier. There are just so many newbies, and it’s hard to keep track,” Lainey backtracked. Electra said she thought she would like it at Forrester. “Everyone seems so…friendly, and…helpful,” Electra said with a hint of sarcasm.

Lainey got a text and said they had to go. “Don’t forget about after work. I would love to talk more without any interruptions,” Lainey said to Will as she glanced at Electra. Once alone, Electra noted that she didn’t think Lainey and Toni liked her too much.

Will told Electra to forget about the other girls. “Are you finally goingtotell me the story of Electra Forrester? Pretty much all I know right now is that she’s got a beautiful smile and those eyes,” Will said as they smiled at one another.

Electra said there wasn’t much to tell. Will prompted that she was a Forrester. Electra assured him there was no nepotism. “My mother is head of PR, and I’m here,” Will said with a chuckle. He told Electra he could tell she was the type of woman who made an impact and noted that she had already made one on him.

In the CEO’s office, Eric asked Steffy if she was absolutely sure of her decision to fire Hope, and she was. Eric noted to Ridge that Brooke would be upset when she heard about it. Ridge confirmed that Brooke did know. “And you’re right, she’s not happy,” Ridge added.

Steffy explained that she had every right to fire Hope. Eric countered that Hope was family. “Family doesn’t treat each other the way she has been treating me,” Steffy said. She added that Hope had been disrespecting her as a woman, and she couldn’t put up with it anymore. Eric slammed down a file on the desk in frustration and said he wished it hadn’t come to this. Steffy agreed and wished Hope could go after another man instead of her husband.

Eric told Steffy she had every right to defend herself and her marriage, but he thought it was a personal decision, not business. Ridge disagreed and noted that HFTF had been struggling for a long time, and no one else would have cut it. Eric agreed. Steffy said she knew it would be perceived as a personal bias, but Hope was warned, and now she had to pay the price.

After Eric left, Ridge said that Eric had always been Brooke’s champion. Steffy knew it would be a tough position for Eric because Brooke would go to him and push emotional buttons like she always did to get what she wanted. “Mothers fight for their children, I get it,” Steffy said, adding that mothers should also teach their daughters some boundaries. “I know that’s how it may seem, but that’s not what happened,” Carter said from the doorway. He told Steffy that Hope didn’t disrespect Steffy or her marriage.

“I understand why you’re upset, and I’m not condoning what she did with Finn at Eric’s. But what happened in the office was an unfortunate misunderstanding,” Carter began. Ridge stopped Carter and said, “I know you’re trying to keep the peace.” Carter dismissed Ridge and launched into a pitch about HFTF and why they should save the line again. “You’re going to throw it all away because of a misunderstanding between Hope and your husband? Is that how we’re running this company?” Carter asked Ridge defiantly.

Steffy tried to keep her temper in check. “Carter, I don’t know what’s going on with you. The way you’re aligning yourself with Hope, you need to be very careful,” Steffy warned. Carter looked at Ridge and asked if that was how he felt as well. “As the COO, I can only speak my opinion if I agree with the both of you?” Carter challenged. He said he wanted to be heard and respected even if his opinion differed from the two of them.

“I keep telling you this over and over,” Carter said. He ranted about the Logan vs Forrester war and how it had to stop, telling Steffy to leave her personal feelings and rivalries out of the board room as she took a deep breath and tried not to roll her eyes.

“Firing Hope was not just misguided, Steffy. It shows a huge lapse in judgment and a lapse in leadership. I won’t let you do this to her. I won’t allow it,” Carter sneered. Steffy glanced at Ridge, who looked almost amused.
