In the CEO's office, Taylor told Brooke that Ridge had moved on, and she felt that it would be healthy for Brooke to do the same. Brooke ignored her and turned to Ridge, reminding him she was his Logan. She asked him to rebuild their future and suggested that he come home.
Taylor said she wished she was surprised by Brooke's actions. "You always prove me wrong," Taylor said, noting, "You're always throwing yourself at Ridge." Taylor stated that Brooke took the CEO position at Forrester Creations to get the company back for Ridge. Brooke agreed that that was what happened. "This horrible chapter is behind us," Brooke said, adding, "All of it."
Brooke turned to Ridge and said she believed that was what Ridge wanted, too: to put this all behind them. Brooke said to Ridge, "Tell me you want to come home, too."
Ridge told Brooke some nice things and noted to Taylor that she knew their history and how she was "his Logan." Brooke smiled as he recalled seeing her through the keyhole in Italy and how he was lost in his life at that time. Brooke chimed in that he was reminded of his destiny at that moment. Ridge said they hung onto that idea so tight, but it didn't work. He said he made a commitment, and he was going to keep it. Brooke asked him not to do this, but Ridge told her, "I will always love you, but my future is with Taylor." She left the office and closed the door behind her. Brooke's eyes welled up with tears in the hallway. Inside the office, Taylor hugged Ridge.
As Finn entered the design office, Steffy was telling Daphne playfully that she wasn't supposed to fall in love with Carter. Finn noticed that his wife was in a good mood. "How could I not be? It's a big day for Forrester Creations," Steffy said. Steffy told Finn that she, Eric, and Ridge were back in charge at Forrester Creations. Finn was happy to hear the big news.
Daphne said she couldn't agree more with Steffy, then claimed she needed something to go check on. "Something or someone?" Steffy asked. Steffy smiled and chuckled as Daphne left.
Carter pushed back with Hope at the cabin, pointing out he had sacrificed everything for her. He promised that he would fix what happened with Hope and Forrester Creations. Carter begged Hope not to give up on what they had, but Hope said if Carter believed in her, then he would have walked out of Forrester Creations with her.
Carter said the only way to get Hope For The Future back is for him to stay at Forrester. Carter said he was sorry, but Hope didn't believe him as, in her opinion, he had a choice, and he chose the Forresters over her.
Hope said that Carter abandoned her when she needed him the most because it got tough for him and brought up that Carter kissed Daphne. She said he made his choice. "Yes, I chose my conscience," Carter said, explaining it was difficult. He reminded her that he had tried to tell her he was struggling with their decisions, but she never listened when he tried. Carter suggested he wasn't desirable to Hope anymore because he could no longer help her. "There it is," Hope said. She pointed out that Ridge and Steffy got into his head. "Every man in your life has let you down," Carter said. Carter told Hope that she saw him as her knight in shining armor to fight her battles, but the second he did something she didn't like, she wanted him gone.
"Do you remember the last time I was fired?" Hope said. She reminded Carter that he had told her that if he were there, he would not have let her be fired. However, given the chance, he did nothing. "I love you, and I don't want to fight with you, and I don't want this to be over," Carter insisted. Hope shot back that Carter had made a deal with her behind her back. "I no longer see the man I fell in love with," Hope said. "Goodbye, Carter." He reluctantly walked out of the cabin.
Carter went back to Forrester Creations and picked up a photo of Hope on the design office desk. He replayed in his mind Daphne's words that he wasn't really in love with Hope. "You okay?" Daphne asked upon entering. Carter recapped that Hope felt betrayed and wanted nothing to do with him. "Her loss," Daphne shrugged. She said she was going to go back to Paris but realized she couldn't leave. "I've never met a man like you, Carter Walton," Daphne said.
Carter told Daphne that he appreciated her because she helped him find himself. "You did the right thing," Daphne said. "You've made mistakes. I have. You're a remarkable man full of goodness, intelligence, and integrity."
Carter said his heart was broken. Daphne replied that it was broken because he gave it to the wrong person. Daphne told Carter he did the right thing by giving the company back to the Forresters and assured him that she was there for him as they embraced.
At the cabin, Hope picked up a photo of her and Carter. She flashed back to him telling her he would never stop fighting for her. "I've never felt so protected," Hope recalled saying. She remembered the pair professing their love for one another. "This is our beginning, not our end," Carter had told Hope not that long ago.
At Steffy and Finn's home, he brought her a beverage. Finn said to his wife that she must feel as if a weight has been lifted. "It's more than a business," Steffy explained. "It's a home." She recalled growing up at Forrester Creations with her siblings, going into Eric's office and getting jellybeans. "I just want to make my parents so proud of me," Steffy said, and Finn assured her that they were. As far as Steffy was concerned, they still had the matter of Brooke on their agenda. Steffy suspected that Brooke would throw herself at Ridge. Steffy told Finn she wished she could have kicked Brooke out, too, but that wasn't possible.
