In the CEO's office, Steffy told Finn that Hope for the Future had lived to see another day. Finn said he was surprised, and Steffy agreed. She said she was more surprised at Carter's sudden interest in the line.
Steffy said that Carter lived for business and didn't make rash decisions. "He called Hope a 'beacon of light,'" Steffy said. She noted that something was off, especially since Hope's line was underperforming. Finn asked if Steffy wondered if something else was going on.

Steffy agreed that Carter was smart and rational, and she trusted his judgment. Finn assured her that it would all make sense eventually. Steffy said she didn't want to talk about Hope anymore. Finn had to check on a patient, but they agreed to put the kids to bed early and get in some quality time.
In the designer's office, Brooke gushed to Carter about his presentation at the meeting and expressed her gratitude. Brooke said it was incredible how Carter persuaded Ridge and Steffy to keep Hope's line afloat. Brooke thanked Carter for all of his compliments about her daughter. "I meant every word," Carter said as Hope smiled.

Once alone, Carter told Hope there was no need to thank him. "How do you know what I was going to say?" Hope asked. Carter reiterated how foolish he thought it would be to cut Hope's line. Hope was happy and said she could carry her vision forward thanks to him. Carter suggested they celebrate privately at his place.
At Spencer Publications, Bill asked Liam what was up with him considering reuniting with Hope. "I mean, have you met me?" Liam asked. Bill pointed out that Liam and Hope's marriage ended ages ago and thought Liam had moved on. Liam credited Will for helping him realize that he had not, in fact, moved on.
Bill liked that his sons were buddies and wondered what Will had said to make Liam realize how he felt about Hope. Will and Liam told their versions of Liam flirting at lunch. Liam admitted that Hope didn't exactly run into his arms when he asked her to reunite, but he wouldn't give up.
Will advised Liam to keep showing Hope his words matched his actions. Liam said Hope needed to be the one woman in a man's eyes, and he hadn't given her that. Will said it didn't matter whose fault it was; they had grown since then. He suggested that Liam fight for Hope before some other guy got to her first.
Brooke visited Deacon at Il Giardino to get caught up on Hope's life. She told him about the meeting with Steffy and how Carter saved the day.
Deacon was surprised to hear how prepared Carter was to champion Hope at the meeting. Brooke noted that Hope was usually under siege at Forrester. Deacon and Brooke were appreciative that Hope had Carter in her corner. "Tell him to come in for a couple of pizzas on the house," Deacon said.
When Hope arrived at Carter's loft, he had candles and a fire lit. She liked the vibe and wondered if his place always looked that nice. Hope thanked Carter again for his help at the meeting. "I wasn't just thinking about what's best for the company. I can't stop thinking about you," Carter admitted.
Hope received a text message from Liam. He was checking when to pick Beth up from her friend's place. "I know he wants you back," Carter blurted out. Hope admitted that Liam asked if they could explore patching things up and raising Beth together as a family, but she didn't think she could.
Hope preferred Beth to see her parents happy but separated rather than together and unhappy. Carter assured Hope it was the right decision. He said Beth felt it when Hope was in a good place, regardless of whether she was single, with Liam, or with someone else.
Carter told Hope to see what other opportunities were out there for her. He restarted his list of compliments about Hope. Hope told Carter he was inspirational. She said being able to talk to him about anything without judgment had been a source of comfort for her for the past year.
Hope told Carter how appreciative she was to have him in her corner. Carter said he was crazy about Hope and wanted to make his intentions clear. "You're all I can think about," Carter said. They began kissing passionately and unbuttoning Carter's shirt. Suddenly, Hope stopped and told him they shouldn't go further. "But we could," Carter said. He tried to kiss her again, but Hope pulled away.

Steffy looks up from her desk to see Carter and Ivy in the doorway. "Hi, Steffy," Ivy says.
Carter tells Hope, "I've been thinking about you for quite some time."
Will tells Brooke and Hope, "One of the big draws of working at Forrester was all the beautiful women." Hope responds, "I'm sure one of them will be thrilled to meet a handsome catch like you."
Will bumps into Electra in the hallway. Sparks fly as they introduce themselves to one another.
