The Bold and the Beautiful Daily YAPP Recap, January 8: Don't be fresh with your mother, Steffy!

Welcome to The Bold and the Beautiful Daily Y.A.P.P. (Your After-Program Ponderings) for a quick — and by that, I mean you’re already halfway done — recap of the most amazing or what-the-heck-did-we-just-watch moments on today’s episode. Let’s get to it:

What happened on The Bold and the Beautiful

There are few soap characters as arrogant and above reproach (in their own mind) as Steffy Forrester. She is never wrong (according to Steffy, at least), and she can talk to anyone any way she wants. Because she is Steffy, or at least that is what we assume her reason is. But maybe she should watch it when she talks to her mother. Even as adults, we should give our parents at least a modicum of respect if they haven't done anything terrible to us. It seems that Steffy never learned this very important life lesson. She didn't like what she heard through Taylor's office door (because she was eavesdropping, of course), so she scolded her mom and told her what she can't and cannot do. Steffy doesn't even scold her own too-good-to-be-true kids the way she scolds her mother. If we were Taylor, we'd tell our adult daughter to please leave and come back when she can show a little big or respect and decorum. We get that Steffy has some justifiable fears when it comes to Sheila, but she doesn't have a right to tell her mother how to run her life, and she especially doesn't have a right to treat her mother like a child while doing it. Taylor may learn soon enough the kind of mistake she is making, and that is what makes for good soap opera.
