Last week, we saw Brooke (Katherine Kelly Lang) visit Deacon (Sean Kanan) at the Il Giardino. She told him she wanted to update him on their daughter, Hope (Annika Noelle), and what was happening in her life.

Deacon couldn't believe Hope for the Future was on the chopping block again. He used Il Giardino's success story as an example of how things change. Deacon thought Steffy (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood) was just unnecessarily targeting Hope's line.
However, Deacon was pleasantly surprised when Brooke told him that Carter (Lawrence Saint-Victor) had come to Hope's rescue in the meeting and went above and beyond with a plan to save her line. Brooke noted the compliments that Carter showered Hope with, and Deacon wanted to reward him with free pizzas.
Everyone blames Steffy for having it out for Hope, but Ridge (Thorsten Kaye) is the one who is vocal about canceling the HFTF. How long will he continue to get a free pass?
On Monday, Brooke and Deacon continue their conversation and have a heartfelt conversation about their daughter. Will they figure out that Carter cares more for Hope than just her line? Sheila (Kimberlin Brown) wasn't there when Brooke arrived, but how would she feel about Deacon's warm and fuzzy relationship with one of her archnemes?
A private celebration
After impressing Hope as her champion at the meeting, Carter was on cloud nine that her fashion line had survived another day. Knowing Liam (Scott Clifton) had Beth (Jordyn Gracie) overnight, Carter invited Hope to his loft to celebrate.
When she arrived, he had the mood set with a cozy fire and candles. Finally, alone without interruptions, they began kissing, but Hope hit the pause button when he started undressing.
Carter's on a roll with his sales pitches. Will he be able to convince Hope that they're ready to move to the next step? On Monday, Carter tells Hope how long — and how much — he's been thinking about being with her. In a heated moment of desire, Carter confesses his burning feelings for Hope, igniting their chemistry.
Corporate decisions
Steffy and Ridge were perplexed at the meeting about Hope for the Future. Usually, Carter brings in the numbers, and they discuss the fact that HFTF is underperforming.
This time, they saw a different side to Carter. The usually matter-of-fact COO gave an impassioned speech to the CEOs about Hope and called her a beacon of light. He made it sound as though the company wouldn't survive without her.
Steffy thought Hope had been hitting up Carter for support, but she had no idea how much he had been influenced. If Carter felt passionate about HFTF, why hadn't he mentioned it to Ridge and Steffy before that meeting — and what, or who changed his feelings?
On Monday, Ridge and Steffy question Carter's support for Hope for the Future, considering its financial struggles. Will they figure out that Carter and Hope are romantically involved? How far will Carter go to champion for Hope? Or is this just the first step to Carter making power moves for himself?
