Ridge goes to see Brooke and tells her that they need to talk. He tells her that what she is doing is self-destructive and he will no longer stand for it. She tells him that she will never give up on him. Ridge looking stunned asks her to quit playing games. "They are not games to me", she says. He tells that she is only getting over Thorne by using him and she is on the rebound. She tells him they have a great past and have too much history to throw it all away. He tells her not to rewrite their history. "We'll always be great friends", he says. She tells him that she doesn't want to rewrite their history; she just wants to be with him now. She tells him that she is not doing this to hurt the kids. He says good, then don't. She says that the kids will get over this, but I won't. She tells him that she still sees the chemistry in his eyes. "Just succumb to it", she says. She then asks him to make love to her. He tells her that he didn't come here to make love to her. He tells her not to relive old memories and asks her to stop. She tells him that he can't stop the inevitable; he just leaves.

Taylor is still an emotional wreck after her fight with Ridge. Stephanie says that Ridge would never leave her for Brooke. Taylor realizes she is playing right into Brooke's hand by fighting with Ridge. She is only driving a wedge between them and sending him into Brooke's arms. Taylor says angrily that if Stephanie won't take care of the problem, she will do whatever she must to get rid of Brooke. Meanwhile, Massimo receives an envelope from a messenger containing confidential information about Brooke. Massimo looks pleased when he sees the contents. Sally stops by and he is surprised but happy to see her. She guesses correctly that he went to see Stephanie, before coming to see her. He asks if she and Stephanie are enemies. She says that she hates Brooke. As it turns out, their hatred for Brooke is the only thing they have in common. He says that he heard what happened with Macy and that he is very sorry. She tells him that Brooke is all to blame for what happened to Macy. Sally tells him that Brooke is about to remarry the Forrester men all over again. He asks if she had a traumatic childhood. "Not that I know of", she says. She tells him that her father ran off, but he returned and they mended their fences. Sally gets ready to leave and they make plans for dinner. Massimo is pleased with the useful information Sally has provided. Massimo heads over to Brooke's house where he sees Ridge's car. He calls Stephanie and confirms the sighting. Stephanie asks for his help. He tells her not to worry, he will take care of Brooke. Stephanie hangs up the phone and tells Taylor the situation with Brooke is almost over. Massimo sees Ridge leave and vows to make Brooke pay.

Due to the horrible tragedies befalling our nation today, all soap operas were pre-empted today. Presumably all network programming will resume tomorrow with no episodes lost.

Soap Opera Central would like to extend our deepest, heart-felt sympathies to any and all persons affected by these horrific events.

Due to continuing news coverage of yesterday's attacks against the United States, all regular daytime network broadcasts have been put on hold. Therefore, no soaps will be shown today. It is unclear when programming will resume as normal. However, Soap Opera Central will remain on deck and provide complete coverage as soon as we are able.

Again, the thoughts and prayers of all those involved in Soap Opera Central -- our staffers and visitors --go out to everyone touched by these horrors.

At this time, one may find comfort in the words of Agnes Nixon, a profilic soap opera scribe and creator of All My Children and One Life to Live.

Speaking of the "kinship of humankind under God," Nixon writes:

The great and the leastThe weak and the strongThe rich and the poorIn sickness and healthIn joy and sorrowIn tragedy and triumphYou are All My Children
