Diamonds aren't a girl's best friend

Have you heard the saying, 'What's done in the dark will always come to light'? That saying was proven true this week on The Bold and the Beautiful. Let's see how the Logan and Spencer families survived the aftermath of Brooke's birthday party in this week's Two Scoops.

I was really impressed with the way Hope handled her mother about the affair. Unlike Rick, Hope didn't slap Brooke on the wrist and say, "it's not your fault" or "don't ever do it again." Instead, she called her out on her poor choices.

Hope asked her mother the same questions we viewers have wondered for years. Exactly how could she allow herself to fall in love with the man who has treated her own daughter like crap? Why is she repeating the same mistakes as she did in the past? I'm still waiting for the answer, but I do have a theory. What if the writers are taking Brooke down road of shame again because she's still mourning the loss of Ridge?

It irritates me that the writers didn't really show Brooke grieving for Ridge. She has loved the man for pretty much her entire adult life. I would have liked to see Brooke go to Paris and put up a fight for Ridge or have a breakdown like she did when she lost custody of Rick and Bridget. The writers really dropped the ball on that. Don't even get me started on the "text message breakup" story. It's time for Ridge to come back to L.A.

Earlier this week, rumors started circulating about a casting call for "Harper." This character has a lot of Ridge-like attributes. He's in his mid-to-late 40s, almost six feet tall, wealthy, and has business savvy. If this "Harper" turns out to be "Ridge," it's going to be very hard for me to accept it, but I'm open to it. I would love to see Ronn Moss return as Ridge, but it looks like that's not happening anytime soon. A recast might be in order.

Some recasts are a disaster, but some work very well. Take Ashley Jones (Bridget), for example. She replaced three-time Emmy winner Jennifer Finnigan. Ashley had huge shoes to fill, and she did it beautifully. She made the character her own. Ridge is a vital character. I think that if they recast Ridge, the actor has to have that "wow" factor. Some actors that come to mind are Michael Park (Jack Snyder, As the World Turns), Peter Reckell (Bo Brady, Days of our Lives), Grayson McCouch (Dusty Donovan, ATWT), and Grant Aleksander (Phillip Spaulding, Guiding Light).

I have a question. How do you get your wife to take you back after sleeping with her sister? Buy her a diamond tiara, of course! The Spencer House of Matches ignited into flames when Bill had the nerve to show up with a diamond tiara, expecting to get into Mrs. Spencer's good graces. Really, Bill? A tiara? Just when I think this man can't be more of a jerk. Okay, Bill, you've cheated on your wife twice now, and you think everything will go back to normal because you bought her a tiara? My girl Katie can't be bought. Sorry, Bill. Epic fail. Sign the divorce papers and keep it moving.

Did anyone else laugh out loud when Brooke walked into Katie's house, without knocking, and asked her not to sign the divorce papers? It didn't take Katie long to figure out that Brooke had been with Bill when he was served. Hey, Brooke, if you want to try to mend your relationship with your sister, you might want to stay clear of her husband at all times. Please don't play hero and try to take the blame for the affair. It takes two.

I love how the writers are molding Katie back into the strong, smart woman that she was before she met Bill. She kind of reminds me of Stephanie Forrester from the late 80s and early 90s. I like this Katie much better than the Katie that's always clutching her chest when the going gets tough. I hope she stays around.

I enjoyed it immensely when Katie and Karen joined forces and told Bill that he's no longer the top dog at Spencer Publications. Brilliant move, Katie. Instead of asking for 1% of the company, she should have demanded 50% of his shares. That's the least the lying, cheating, egotistical, poor excuse of a man could do. Hey, Bill, maybe you should return the tiara!

It looks like Liam and Hope are trying to make yet another attempt to have a relationship. Why? It baffles me to see Hope even considering having anything to do with Liam, knowing his track record and having Wyatt willing and perfectly able to make her happy.

I understand that Liam and Hope have been through a great deal. Yes, they do have a connection, but I don't think it's as strong as Liam and Steffy's. Liam and Steffy lost a child together. They have an unbreakable bond. Sorry, Hope, Liam will never be completely over Steffy. In fact, when Liam found out that Steffy was barren, he was more than willing to stay with his wife because he loves her. Time to move on with someone who is all about you.

It seems like Wyatt is Liam's brother from another mother. (Hope can't seem to shake those Spencer boys.) This week, we got to meet Wyatt's mom, Quinn, played by the beautiful Rena Sofer. I think that Quinn has ties to Bill. Her reaction to Hope's interrogation about the sword and just the mention of Bill's Spencer's name made it pretty obvious that these two have crossed paths. I can't wait to see the look on Bill's face when he and Quinn meet up. I wonder if this could be a possible triangle, Brooke/Bill/Quinn?

I'm thinking that Bill and Quinn had a relationship in the past. Quinn made the sword as a gift. She got pregnant, Bill probably cheated on her, and she left to raise Wyatt on her own, not telling Bill about his son. Who agrees with me?

I like the fact that the writers are bringing in new faces on B&B. Let's just hope they'll utilize them and not have them fade away. (Nick, Jackie, Owen, Felicia, Bridget, Amber, etc.)

Will Wyatt figure out that he's a Spencer by blood? How will Bill react to his new bundle of joy? Will Liam welcome his brother with open arms? Do I smell a Wyatt/Hope/Liam triangle coming up? Stay tuned!
