Body of The Bold and the Beautiful crew member recovered following extensive search

The Bold and the Beautiful head grip vanished last week, and now authorities know what happened.

Over the weekend, The Bold and Beautiful stars took to Instagram to put out an alert about Jack Kidd, Jr., a crew member who disappeared in the wee hours of the morning on July 25.

Sadly, Kidd's body was located on Sunday, July 28, when a drone spotted his Dodge truck at the bottom of a ravine on Little Tujunga Canyon Road, according to television station KHTS. Authorities do not suspect foul play.

"Upon arrival, CVSO [Crescenta Valley Sheriff's Office] repelled approximately 300 feet to the vehicle and located the lifeless body of a male approximately three feet from the white Dodge," California Highway Patrol Officer Josh Greengard said.

A representative for IATSE (International Alliance of Theatrical Stage Employees) Local 33, who identified himself as Kidd's cousin, posted about his death on Facebook.

"With a heavy heart, Our Union Brother, my cousin, Jack Kidd was found today," the post reads. "Jack was involved in an accident in the Little Tujunga canyon that is still under investigation. We just left the site once Jack was brought up from the canyon. I want to thank Robert Nottingham who found Jack's truck in the canyon. I want to thank all the brothers and sisters who went out to search for Jack. Thank you to the search and rescue team who volunteered their time to carefully recover Jack, showing great respect for the family on site. Thank you to TVC Studios management for staying in touch with me. Thank you, Bold & Beautiful, for using your PR crew to help us find Jack. Thank you all for your prayers and love, the family has felt your solidarity. Jack, I love you and will miss you. Thank you for being a part of our family."

Kidd had been the head grip on B&B since 2014. A grip is a technician who builds, operates, and maintains equipment for film and television productions. Grips are responsible for making sure everything is ready for filming before the director calls "action."

He came in early everyday to make sure the production was ready to go, according to a family statement. Anytime a co-worker had a question, problem or situation, Jack was always willing to help. If someone needed a hand, Jack was there.

Don Diamont (Bill Spencer, B&B), Rena Sofer (ex-Quinn Fuller, B&B; Lois Cerullo, General Hospital), Courtney Hope (Sally Spectra, B&B and The Young and the Restless), and B&B Supervising Producer Casey Kasprzyk, all took to Instagram to post about Kidd's disappearance in hopes that someone knew of his whereabouts.

This is not like Jack at all," Diamont wrote. "He is a very important member of The Bold and the Beautiful crew. If you have information, please let us know."

Sofer echoed his sentiments, saying, "He is a beloved member of the @boldandbeautifulcbs family and we are all worried!! Please keep Jack and his family in your positive thoughts!"

Kidd is survived by his wife Missy, who he married in 1987; his children Ally, Erin and Jackson; one grandchild with another on the way; his mother Virginia, and his sister Janine Holliman.
