The Bold and the Beautiful's Anna Maria Horsford joins CBS series B Positive

CBS's B Positive has added Anna Maria Horsford (ex-Vivienne Avant, The Bold and the Beautiful) to its cast in the recurring role of Althea Ludlum.

CBS soap fans who miss seeing Anna Maria Horsford as The Bold and the Beautiful's Vivienne Avant won't have to look very far to find her back on their screens. The actress has joined the network's hit series B Positive.

Created by former Mom co-executive producer Marco Pennette and inspired by personal experience, B Positive is about a therapist and newly divorced dad named Drew (Thomas Middleditch) who is faced with finding a kidney donor and unexpectedly runs into a rough-around-the-edges woman from his past, Gina (Annaleigh Ashford), who volunteers her own. Together they form an unlikely bond and begin a journey that will change both of their lives.

According to Deadline, Horsford has signed on to the series' upcoming second season in the recurring role of Althea Ludlum, the no nonsense administrator of Valley Hills, the assisted living facility where Gina has been working. "She's a thorn in Gina's side, but Gina needs help running the place," the outlet previews of Althea.

Chuck Lorre, who serves as an executive producer on B Positive, broke down some of the other changes that will be taking place in the new season of the sitcom, which is set to premiere on Thursday, October 7.

"Having donated a kidney and saved a man's life, Gina has learned that happiness is in the giving, not the getting. She puts this principle to work by trying to improve the lives of the elderly residents of Valley Hills," Lorre previews. "In the meantime, Drew is struggling with a strange new feeling. Post-surgery, he's convinced he's in love with Gina. It's complicated."

Horsford took on the role of B&B's Vivienne in 2015 and last appeared on the CBS soap opera in 2018. In addition to an early credit as Guiding Light's Clara Jones, the actress has an incredibly long rsum that includes shows like The Addams Family, Tall Hopes, Rhythm & Blues, The Wayans Bros., Method & Red, The Shield, New Girl, The Last O.G., Mom, Sunnyside Up, and Ghost Tape.
