The Bold and the Beautiful's Matthew Atkinson joins Hulu's Everyone Is Doing Great

The Bold and the Beautiful's Matthew Atkinson (Thomas Forrester) is thrilled to be part of Hulu's upcoming series Everyone Is Doing Great, a binge-worthy comedy he describes as "funny with heart."

January is on track to be yet another month in which a lot of people stay home, but the couch potato syndrome this time around won't be due to the coronavirus alone. Hulu has picked up a new comedy featuring Matthew Atkinson (Thomas Forrester, The Bold and the Beautiful), who enthuses that the series is definitely one that fans will want to binge watch.

Called Everyone Is Doing Great, the comedy stars Atkinson alongside One Tree Hill alums James Lafferty and Stephen Colletti, who play out-of-work actors struggling to cope with life and love five years after their successful hit television vampire drama, Eternal, ends.

"Awesome to see this show get picked up by Hulu. I had so much fun filming with these guys. This show is funny with heart," Atkinson shared on Instagram. "I usually can't binge shows I'm in, but this one I can't wait to watch again. Huge congrats to @stephencolletti and @jameslafferty for one heck of an accomplishment."

Unsurprisingly, B&B fans are wondering what Atkinson's new series will mean for Thomas. At the moment, the actor will continue filming his soap role, as he already finished filming the first season of Everyone Is Doing Great. However, that may change if the comedy is picked up for subsequent seasons, which Atkinson says he would welcome. "Can't wait to film season two -- 10," he shared with a winky face emoji.

As for what else Atkinson is up to, he celebrated a birthday on December 27 and recently told Soap Central that while he was growing up, he definitely felt the "torture" of having a birthday so near to Christmas.

"[Luckily, my parents] did a great job of making sure it still felt special, but I definitely noticed on certain years that I didn't get the same amount of gifts as my brother did!" he jokes. "I would count them in my head and think, 'I got less gifts for my birthday than he got for his birthday, but we have the same amount for Christmas. What's going on here?!'"

All jokes aside, he's thankful that his parents did the best they could, especially because he now realizes how stressful it must be for families to plan birthday shenanigans in the middle of the holidays.

"One of my close friends had a baby last year on December 23, and just as a parent, I'm like, 'I realize how tough that's going to be,'" he shares. "You've got to travel probably to go see your family, or you travel somewhere to do something, or if you're at home with your family, you've got to set up all the decorations and make sure that the kids have the Christmas experience and the days leading up to the Christmas and the days right after, giving gifts and setting up decorations and all of that stuff. And then on top of that, your child has a birthday?! It's a lot of stress! So, I definitely empathize."
