Former daytime star Sean Kanan (ex-Deacon Sharpe, The Bold and the Beautiful; ex-A.J. Quartermaine, General Hospital) shaved his head for Verotika, a horror film that promises to be a visual feast.
Sean Kanan has tackled quite a few hair-raising scenes as The Bold and the Beautiful's Deacon Sharpe and General Hospital's A.J. Quartermaine, but this may be the first time he's had to tackle scenes that require hair shaving. But that's just what he's done for the upcoming horror film Verotika.
Kanan took to social media with a behind-the-scenes snap of himself as his character, Sgt. Andrews, and shared that now that he's done filming, his hair is finally growing back... albeit slowly!

Verotika is structured as an anthology that splits its running time between three individual storylines based on director Glenn Danzig's comics of the same name. The film's official Facebook page recently shared three sneak peek stills from the horror project: one of a woman staring eerily into a mirror, one of a grotesque monster pulling on the facial skin of what appears to be a captive, and one of a spike-crowned Queen holding a knife over a dead-eyed young lady.
There's no word yet on how Kanan's character fits into the trifecta of stories, but Danzig has been up-front about what viewers can expect as a whole when they sit down to watch his new film, which also features adult film star Kayden Kross.
"I'm not doing anything other than an R movie," he tells Revolver Magazine. "I like boobs and blood."
Kanan began working as an actor in the 1980s, landing roles in shows like Werewolf, Baby Boom, The Outsiders, and Step by Step. His first daytime role was GH's A.J., which he played from 1993 to 1997 and again from 2012 to 2014. He's also known for playing Deacon Sharpe on-again, off-again on both The Bold and the Beautiful and The Young and the Restless from 2000 to 2017.
