B&B wins third consecutive GLAAD Award

Congratulations are in order for The Bold and the Beautiful, as the Gay and Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation (GLAAD) has given the show yet another award.

It seems The Bold and the Beautiful is on a major winning streak, because the CBS Daytime drama just won its third consecutive GLAAD Award for the storyline surrounding transgender character Maya Avant (played by Karla Mosley).

"Congrats to [executive producer and head writer] #BradBell @karlamosley & everyone at #BoldandBeautiful on being named 'Outstanding Daytime Drama Series' by @glaad at the 29th Annual GLAAD Media Awards tonight in Los Angeles," the CBS Daytime drama's official Twitter handle shared.

GLAAD, which is an acronym for the Gay and Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation, recognizes and honors the media for fair, accurate, and inclusive representation of the LGBTQ (gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender, and queer) community and the issues that affect their lives.

B&B won the GLAAD Award in the Outstanding Daily Drama category last year and in 2016 for its Maya storyline. Days of our Lives took home the award in 2015 for its wedding between Sonny (Freddie Smith) and Will (Guy Wilson).
