Sean Kanan exit rumors officially put to rest

Rumors are swirling that Sean Kanan's (Deacon Sharpe) days with The Bold and the Beautiful are numbered, but a show rep confirms the fan-favorite actor isn't going anywhere.

You can't always believe what you read on the Internet, and the latest rumor that The Bold and the Beautiful's Sean Kanan (Deacon Sharpe) is about to be ousted from the CBS soap falls into that category.

Months of both light and non-existent story followed by the recent off-screen breakup of Kanan's alter ego and his on-screen wife, Quinn (Rena Sofer), have fans speculating that the actor is no longer wanted at the CBS soap. And Kanan's retweet of several disgruntled fans' Twitter messages certainly hasn't helped dispel the nasty rumors.

However, Kanan fans can put their minds at ease. A rep for B&B confirms that the actor isn't going anywhere. And, in fact, juicy material is ahead for Hope's dad. "Sean Kanan as Deacon Sharpe remains a part of the B&B cast and has some amazing story coming up," the rep relates. "Tune in or you're going to miss some great Deacon moments."

As fans of the actor may recall, Kanan walked away from the role of General Hospital's A. J. Quartermaine in 2014 after a disappointing run and was immediately snatched up by B&B's executive producer, Bradley Bell, to resume the role he originated on B&B in 2000 and later moved to sister soap The Young and the Restless. "Deacon is my favorite of all the characters I've played," Kanan said at the time. "I started my career in daytime on GH but returning to B&B feels like I'm going home."

Are you relieved to hear Kanan is staying put at B&B? What kind of storyline do you hope is in Deacon's future? We want to hear from you -- so drop your comments in the Comments section below, tweet about it on Twitter, share it on Facebook, or chat about it on our Message Boards.
